The Deck

First time dining at Surf deck. It was dark so we couldn't enjoy the great ocean views. Food was good, I had a pizza which was very nice indeed. Also they served a good-sized coffee.

View for this place is 10 out 10. Nice vibe, layout and love the fact you can order and pay at your table, without having to get up. Crispy Pork Taco was a miss, not crispy! Everything else was good not great. Pizza is a must though. Cocktail was ordered, and literally came out 3/4 full, other than that good atmosphere and good service.

Absolutely delightful service. I highly recommend reserving the window seats that look out to the ocean; stunning views!

Fantastic venue! Unbeatable views. Some great food not your usual pizza/burger/steak options. Tiki styled. Very friendly, helpful staff. This will get very booked up, I’m sure! Try to pick a sunny day ; Highly recommended for a light lunch or graze your way through the menu…!

All ordering is done by QR code on table so no opportunity to ask questions etc food and drinks then arrived sporadically, food before drinks etc the QR code then asks us how much would you like to tip? NOTHING we did all the work. Venue seems confused as to what it should be. No great nibbles on menu to have with a drink, lots of young families eating but it's supposed to be a tikki bar?? Food was not great at all will not be going back. Pity it's a great spot.

Food was excellent, unfortunately it was not fit for families. Despite going early when it was far from full, they refused to make a separate piece of plain toast for my toddler, and there's no kids menu so you either have to order a full adult size meal or nothing. Also the restaurant can't alter menu at all e.g. my vegetarian husband just asked for the breakfast wrap without the chorizo indicating either lack of flexibility or food was pre prepared. Hopefully just growing pains as they are new.

Lovely place, great view. Had the Fish n chips - I’ve never seen such suspiciously luminous yellow chips in all my days and the fish was greasy with too much batter… and all for a staggering $31. Terrible value in terms of cost and nutritionally.

Lovely venue right on the beach but pretty average in all other areas. Crispy pork taco was chewy and cold when it came and a tiny portion, and cocktails were average. We had staff come up to us 4 times while we were eating our food and try to take the plates off the table that we were actually eating off. Had to tell them after the 4th time to let us eat our food first before taking everything away. Don't expect a relaxing time here as you will be rushed out the door to make way for new customers.

Crispy Pork taco was grizzly, dry and non edible- had to be taken back. Nachos was lacking in beans- a very small serving for $30 and not enough to feed one. Disappointing for a Merivale venue. Staff however, were friendly and fabulous as always.

Having your beer or coffee right on the beach! awesome. great place, great service and priced fairly, plenty parking, I will definitely make this place for my weekend breakfast spot. Thanks guys, you are running a excellent place .
