Story

The Cyclone Cafe was established in 1994. This unassuming haunt was constructed of post Cyclone Tracey materials. The Cafe is riddled with rusty corrugated iron for the exterior and décor, which is a reference to the flying tin from roofs that posed the greatest danger during the cyclone hence the name Cyclone Cafe. Enter inside this quirky cafe and there’s a friendly space serving excellent coffee widely acclaimed as the best in Darwin. The meals are made to order with fresh local ingredients. There is a wide range of gluten free and vegetarian meals. Know to locals as an institution if you haven't visited this little gem put it on your must see list!

I am super fussy with my coffee and nothing will do except my cyclone fix! Great staff who all seem to be long term, delectable food with a slight Mediterranean theme... try the middle eastern eggs delish. Overall i would absolutely recommend this cafe for sure

Unfortunately my experience with Cyclone was terrible. After hearing that the food and coffee was really good and that i wouldn't be disappointed, I was left more than disappointed with the service and the food. My friend and I went for breakfast and were one of the first customers for the morning. We ordered a coffee and eggs benedict and some breakfast pudding. After waiting 45 minutes there was no breakfast and all the other patrons had eaten and left. We asked where our breakfast was to be told that the pudding was not on the menu and we just ordered another eggs benedict to be quick as we were hungry. We were offered another free coffee to compensate for the mistake. We ordered 2 but only one showed up and it wasn't even the one we ordered. When to food showed up the muffins were not toasted, the sauce was pure lime and the poached eggs were solid. We could not eat it and ended up leaving to get some food at the nearby markets. It might have been an off day as i have heard good reviews previously but i can not recommend going to Cyclone for breakfast.
