What an absolute gem of a hotel. Ate there 2 nights in a row. I had the rump and my friend had the chicken parmi. Second night both had the beef schnitzel and the food was so good. Staff was friendly and the lady manager does care about customer service.

As Adelaide locals who appreciate high-end dining, we set the bar pretty high for a good steakhouse. Tonight completely blew us away—the steak was right up there with our favorite cuts from places like The Meat & Wine Co. and Hunter & Barrel. To top it off, the mushroom gravy was hands down better than some of the top-end steakhouses we've visited without naming names!. From the food to the hospitality, everything was top-tier. We’ll definitely be recommending this place to everyone and will definitely return.
Although recently renovated, it’s more of a facelift than anything else. Sure the rooms and general hotel look great, but it still lacks in some pretty basic ways.nnFirst off…people need to be aware that about half of the rooms don’t have windows. This wasn’t mentioned when I booked directly through their website. Photos show light filled rooms but the room I was in had jail cell feels about it. I understand this isn’t something that be changed about the rooms given it’s the way the building is built it’s basically a backpackers hostel but the least they could do is mention that in the room description.nnThere was a skylight directly above the bed…but all that meant is an early wake up as there wasn’t a blind so as soon as the sun is up you cop a blast of light straight to the face. ‍nnThe airconditioner was basically just a wall ornament. Bugger all air flow coming out of it. Worse than that, they’ve replaced the remote controls in every room with “green remote” which means you can’t set the temperature lower than 22 degrees. So that along with the lack of airflow due to no windows meant my room was never lower than 26.3 degrees the whole night. Considering most people staying here would be tourists from cooler climates…they’ve sacrificed comfort for saving a few bucks on their power bill. I highly recommend BYOing you own universal aircon remote to atleast get the temperature down. Not that that will help with the low air flow.nnThe hot water is a huge issue. If anyone in any of the other rooms is showering the same time as you…you’re in a constant fight over water pressure and temperature. It’s 2026…upgrade your hot water system. Had to have the cold tap off completely so that meant just a dribble of hot water until my neighbour turned theirs off and then I got blasted with hot water. And shower curtain? Really? It’s 2026…nnThe rooms look nice but their layout needs rethinking. So much wasted space which meant that you’re either sitting on the bed to watch tv or on the single hard wooden chair looking up. If some more thought was put into the layout, they could’ve put a couple of small occasional chairs or couch in.nnDidn’t eat there this time as the prices at the restaurant were out of my reach given how much I had to pay for the room. But last year had a nice steak there while staying at a different hotel.
