Came for the $19 Thursday steak night and was not disappointed! Steak and pork belly was very yummy, and even though the place was packed we got our meal in under 30 mins. Also live music outside! Would recommend booking a table since it does get busy from 6pm
Great for a 3 star hotel. The staff are friendly & helpful, so much so one can forgive anything. The food is great. It's a popular social meeting place & a guest swimming pool so expect music & noise during the day & night. My room was clean with enough amenities.
my friend insisted to visit this place. the steak was nice but the chips were incredibly amazing. the salad was a bit small and we waited for more than an hour doesn't matter we were in no hurry very busy and quite loud outside.
We had a ten day stay…loved the location, so central to everything and easy walking to Waterfront, some of the museums, Deckchair cinema, even the Casino about 2.4k’s flat walk. Sure the place is dated, but our room was clean, linen and towels clean and fresh. Only downside would be the very slow wifi, but not sure if that’s Darwin in general? A great place to enjoy happy hour, we got to know/meet some of the locals which was nice. The staff were super friendly and helpful, though their bed making skills leave a bit to the imagination I’m a little fussy in that department. Yes there is music of an evening, but we love live music…and it didn’t really interrupt our sleeps…and hey, it’s a pub! Loved the clean pool and complimentary pool towels and the daybeds are super comfy…a lot of relaxing was done. Definitely recommend and we’ll be back.
Just spent another week at the CAV, and once again it did not disappoint. From greetings to farewell from Joy Joy, Claire & Lance, it’s like coming back to family. This time we took our immediate family which consisted of 16 of us. They went out of their way with blowing up inflatables for the pool so the kids could enjoy, to welcome home after a long day with icy poles & also lollipops on another occasion. Always asking if we had enough towels etc.nThen on to food & entertainment. You really can’t go elsewhere. It’s spot on. To Sunday night roast to Steak night Thursdays. Yum!nWe have been going to Darwin for a number of years & would not stay anywhere else.nThis is Not a 5 star hotel, but it offers everything in one place. Thank you to the team at the Cavenagh hotel for another wonderful stay.
