Good hotel with friendly staff.nIt has a very nice pool adjacent to the pub, the rooms are pretty spacious and clean.nThe whole hotel is a little bit worn out but overall maintained very well, it does have a very SPACIOUS common kitchen that come very handy.nYou might hear some noise in the evening due to the proximity of the pub but nothing past 22:00.nVery well located in the heart of the city.
Interstate travellers on annual trip back to Darwin, we never miss coming for lunch at the CAV, staff are friendly, relaxed atmosphere, fresh quality foods & large meals - highly recommended

I arrived around 3 PM for check-in, and unfortunately the male staff member was not friendly or helpful as I hoped expecting a friendly greeting after a long journey :-. Thanks God, the wonderful lady staff who worked in the morning was incredibly nice and helpful.nThe hotel is in a very strategic location.nThere is no elevator, which made it a bit challenging for me as a shorter woman carrying really heavy luggage. The hotel room was spacious and clean.nThe hotel also provides a luggage room that allowed guests to store luggage after checking out.
One of my best routines in Darwin was enjoying a delicious steak at The Cavenagh with colleagues. Their Thursday special was always a highlight!
