Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here; pizzas were all absolutely delicious we had Mr Oz, prosciutto, magharita and the Lemon & prawn pizzas, service staff were delightful and friendly. To top it off, the dessert we had berry crumble pizza dessert and brownie was amazingly! We ate too much, but all worth it! Definitely coming back. Keep up the great work.
Simply Fabulous. The pizza is amazing. Can highly recommend the Pork and Pear or the Chorizo and Prawns. The pizzas are really good, great bases and well thought through toppings. This is just the start as to why they deserve their "Capitan" title. The staff are wonderful and make the whole experience just delightful. Do ask for beverage pairing for your food and you won't be disappointed. The important thing to keep in mind is you must save room for desert. The surprise was just how good desert is. We had the Gin and Tonic tart, and it is to die for! Get a matching Gin and T to drink and you will leave not just satisfied but delighted! All in all great food, amazing staff and just a very enjoyable experience.

Best Pizza on the Surf Coast A really well run efficient Pizza restaurant. Very friendly service, pleasant ambiance, excellent quality fare at a reasonable price point. The Captain is a Pizza Restaurant, and although they do entree and dessert, don't expect to be able order a parma. The Captain has been recently renovated which has further improved the in finding experience. A favourite spot for locals and tourists alike.
This was our first dinner while on the Great Ocean Road and wow was it amazing. Best wood fire pizza I’ve had in a long time, great location, cool decor, lovely staff, good drinks, fair prices, and didn’t wait too long for our food. Can’t believe the best wood fire pizza I’ve had lately is in a tiny coastal town but I’ll take it! Will definitely go back soon.
Stopped in while visiting from New Zealand and hands down one of the best wood fired pizzas I have ever had, staff were friendly, prices were fair, only wish was that I could get something as good back home!
We thoroughly enjoyed dining at Captain of Aireys. The place has a lovely ambiance and the staff are really very lovely. The pizza was absolutely fantastic as well as the San Giovese wine we picked. The desert pizza was delicious too! Definitely a must for all true Italian pizza lovers. Will definitely return soon, thanks!!
An accidental GEM!!!! We had planned on eating somewhere else before finding them closed so we googled some places and found this. I'm so glad we did because our whole experience was nothing short of spectacular! The amazing staff were so friendly and helpful and the food.....WOW!! We enjoyed 3 of the most delicious pizzas we've ever had. To the waitresses and chefs, Thank you so much! To the other restaurant, thank you for being closed.
If I could I’d give 6/5 I would! Captains of Aireys will exceed all your expectations. We’ve been regulars for many years and always recommend a stop to anyone we know travelling the Great Ocean Road, having full confidence they’ll fall in love with it just as much as we have. The owners have poured their hearts and souls into this beautiful restaurant and it shows. The ambiance is fun and relaxed and the servers attentive to your needs. Their wines / local beer recommendations to pair with your meal are always spot on. The pizzas main attraction are sooooo delicious - wood fired, quality toppings and a wonderful range catering for vegetarians and those with gluten intolerances. I almost don’t want to share my experience because I don’t want to ever miss out on a booking, but it’s too good to not let others in on this experience, and that it is. This is honestly my favorite pizza on earth. The wood fired crust is a little crispy and a little chewy, perfect balance. Ingredients and toppings are also top notch. I wish The Captain would open up in Ocean Grove.
