I attended the bar for lunch with two companions on Sunday afternoon. The service was friendly and prompt, the food was very nice, one of my companions had steak which she informed was delicious, I had the fishtails in batter, also nice. The lady who served was very informative.nThe metal tips on chairs scraping across concrete floors was painful.nTo be honest, there was one point of concern. I thought all such facilities had to have a toilet for handicapped persons, my companion needed such a toilet but was informed there wasn't one and was directed to a single toilet which was barely adequate.
The porterhouse steaks weren’t well cooked. We ordered two medium rare but it was so hard to chew. Very dry and hard meat. The veggies and the chips were good. When we ask the service if this is cooked medium rare, the waitress said she will check it but never got back to us. Not sure how the other meals are but the porterhouse was a big disappointment.
Obviously one of the best pub/bistros in town. We were in 'Hamo' overnight for a local art gallery exhibition and on looking at reviews thought we might check the Cally out for dinner. The place was jumping with locals, families and visitors like us. I had the roast duck breast, my partner the Mongolian beef skewers. Service was great. Highly recommend.
I had the chicken schnitzel with garlic prawn sauce and others had the massaman curry and egg plant parmigiana . We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The bar staff were very pleasant and friendly.
All day menu and lovely view to watch the world go by. Arincini balls were fab.
