The Borek Shop

I think it's hard in general to get good borek in Melbourne. This place is one of the good ones out there. The bread feels fresh and filling though smaller and less spicy than expected is still flavourful .

I had a lamb borek last week. It was very ordinary. The recipe has changed from a very spicy taste sensation to plain boring. The price has also increased from $2.50 to $4. I suspect that the business has changed hands and the current owners didn't get the old recipe. Its definitely not was it used to be.

The best Borek in Melbourne. The price has changed from $2.5 to $4 in the last 5 years, but you 'need' to keep to the same better size, filling and quality so if its busy, it is worth waiting for. It is the best in Melbourne. I have no bad words about this store but thanks.

The lamb and potato Borek were pretty nice, although I've had better. Service was very quick.

What can I say? It was absolutely worth it. And at $3 – it was a massive win! Having never had a Borek before, I can vouch that this was one amazing meal. Soft and fluffly like a nan bread but filled with spicy lamb strips and onion. It was perfect. I would definitely go for another one! Note to self: stop writing on an empty stomach.
