Great place for families! You can wine and dine while your bub plays in the playground area! The food was amazing only downfall is it came out quite cold. Be sure to tell them you don’t want your food sitting in the warmer when it’s ready Other than that everything was amazing! Pram friendly and baby change toilet as well
My son and his partner along with my two grandsons and I were all going to the backyard to celebrate his birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and we had a great dinner. Asmita and her team, hands down, catered and attended to all aspects of our birthday party we had there a couple weeks ago for our kids. Guests have commented that the food we served piping hot, fresh and very tasty. We selected the pizza banquet and everyone left the party very full and satisfied. They were nice enough to allow our contractors on-site earlier than the booked time to set up and helped rearrange the table settings to cater for the event. Service was quick, friendly and quite up there. The actual backyard at the venue is enclosed so kids can roam around and burn off all that energy, food and sugar! Also great space to organise kids entertainment for the party to entertain with games, face painting and balloon modelling. A huge thanks to the team and a high recommendation for all those wanting to host a large PAX event. Parking: Difficult to find parking during peak times but otherwise, there would be some parking available on-site or nearby
The backyard has huge outdoor play area for the kids so the adults can enjoy the food while the kids are kept busy outside. Plenty of outdoor seatings available. Order the food at the counter and pay it to get the food delivered to the table. Portion as well as price was alright. There are some gaming machines inside as well.
I have visited twice in the last week and have been bitterly disappointed on both occasions. On Thursday I place orders 2 kids and 2 adults for mains and then later for dessert. Both orders had been completely forgotten about. No apology was fourth coming. All tables outside where filled to the top with plates, cups, left over food and rubbish which attracted numerous forms of different wildlife. On Saturday, I order two meals for my kids. When one of the meals arrived chicken nuggets the bowl it was served in was covered in pasta sauce from the previous order. When I politely informed the kitchen, I received no apology, and made to feel like it was my fault the plates where dirty. As I watched this plate being passed around the chiefs I felt certain the food was just going to be dishes up in a new plate, until I caught the eye of one of the members of staff. I’ve never gone to Backyard expecting gourmet food. But clean tables, clean plates a smile and when necessary an apology go a long way.
Was there for a kid’s birthday party and it was fantastic. Kids food - burgers, nuggets, spaghetti bolognaise was great. Host ordered pizzas for the parents and they were really nice. Bought 2 to take home to the rest of my family. Great venue and good food.
The food was appalling. We ordered two adult meals and two kids meals. The menu states kids meals are $2 on Sundays, but I was told "not today" without any explanation. $70 later and they managed to cremate everything. Battered fish, parmi, cheeseburger, shnitty burger and all the chips were overcooked and dry. Even though my 4 Yr old was starving, he wouldn't touch his dried out cheeseburger and brown dry chips after one bite. Such a shame, the place has huge potential with the great outdoor kids space, but we will not be returning.
What a family friendly place. As soon as you walk out the back you can see a big fenced grassy area with toys, basketball hoop, balls and kids running around having fun. The adults all seem relaxed sitting or standing on the deck or grass, drink in hand. The menu is extensive & has offerings to please all. I wasnt expecting much from the food but it was much better then I thought. The chicken schitzel was nicely crumbed and crunchy. The seafood platter for 2 has a good variety of items and flavours, much better then your standard all fried platters. The octopus was tender, the prawns spicy, fish well battered. The smoked meat platter was generous & filling. Not the cheapest but reasonably priced. Note there are 2 prices for members and non members. A lovely family orientated place.
This place is absolutely AMAZING! If you are looking for a Family Friendly Venue, this is your place. I held three large events approx. 120 pax per event and our guests had the best time ever. The food was great and the staff were very nice and friendly. There are play areas for the children as well as a space for adults to enjoy a hot or cold drink. We did different activities for the kids during the first two hours and we pre-ordered all the meals. The kids had a ball. The owners are easy to deal with and accommodating. The BACKYARD is located inside “Briars Sports Club”. I am looking forward to organising another event soon.
Planned to bring my 2 year old daughter and a Matisse dog to have lunch there. We called and confirmed that we could bring our dog if we take outdoor seat. I have brought my dog in the dog bag and would go to the restaurant via sport club, however, the man at the main entrance of the sport club was very rude and said no dogs permitted. We said we could take the outdoor seat and we have called the restaurant and informed that dogs was allowed. The man was just very rude and said NO to us. His attitude also scared my daughter. Not recommended for family gathering with kid!!!
