A space that is well ahead of it’s time and Jesse and his team of instructors/teachers have some of the greatest knowledge to be shared with it’s students. A fun, energising safe and friendly environment, there aren’t enough superlatives to describe how good this place is in taranaki. Keep it up team!!!
New Plymouth MMA Studio - so much more than just an awesome gym - all the instructors are highly knowledgeable and experienced, there are a range of martial arts classes including Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling and MMA. Facilities are outstanding, clothing and equipment is available to purchase. In addition, the culture of this gym is absolutely outstanding - it's like a family. Never experienced such a good vibe! If you want to learn a martial art and get super fit in the process then give these guys a call!!!!

NPMMA know what’s up! Super friendly and chill as environment; but equally important they are super knowledgeable when it comes to all things Jiu-Jitsu/MMA. Highly recommended if you live in the area or just visiting.
Coaches with tones of knowledge and experience. Extremely welcoming and great atmosphere. Would 100% train here if I lived in New Plymouth. Recommend to anyone looking to get in to Martial Arts or to take their training to the next level.
Dropped in to no gi class and open mat while passing through town. Awesome class lead by Rhys, patient and technical. Really welcoming group with some good fun rolls in the open mat too. Super clean facilities
Today I attended a women’s self defence class at New Plymouth MMA. I was pretty uncertain about coming along to this as I was worried it would be a bit too “hands on” and I am very protective of my personal space but our head coach, Rhys, made me feel super comfortable and safe. I learned a LOT and had a great time. Rhys’s way of explaining things was very clear and relatable to real life which I found super insightful and useful. I feel like this could help a lot of women gain more confidence while moving through the word. If you’re thinking about trying it out but an MMA gym sounds a little scary. It’s not. Give it a try. Assistant coach Lee-Anne will also make you feel right at home. What a great place for women to learn self defence and build confidence. 5 stars from me. Will certainly be back again next time
Great environment with Experienced Coaches. Highly recommend! Core skills classes are suitable for everyone. Great way to get fit while having a great time with cool people.
Quality facilities, recognized high level coaches with a warm encouraging atmosphere. Anyone would feel safe walking in to NPMMA studio regardless of their experience level or lack there of. First class!
