What a fantastic place offering inside and outside dining with a romantic feeling. Incredible decor inside elegant and a wow factor. I recommend booking for large groups. Relaxing and a time to unwind. Soft music. Clean and tidy. Rear bar offers so much more.
From the moment we arrived at this perfectly located city hotel we were treated with respect and assistance by all the helpful staff. The suite we had was unique and superb, had two fire places, crystal chandeliers, magnificent marble walls in lovely period bathroom, oil paintings, we were transported back to the turn of last century. Bed was comfy, everything was clean, surprisingly quiet as there is a wonderful busy bar and restaurant down stairs serving great food and drinks. Parking was simple 15 minute free standing right next door for easy check in, then $30/24 hour come and go parking 200 m's away. Had a fantastic time, thanks.
This place was unfortunately so bad despite it having really nice old-school pub vibes. We stopped in for a quick breakfast and waited over an hour for our breakfast basically just eggs on toast. We ordered orange juice which was orange cordial, the coffee was like dish water and the eggs were dry and cold refer to picture. The young man that worked there was lovely but he was under the pump amd seemed to be working by himself. I would NOT recommend.
I got pretty annoyed when we worked hard to make sure everything we did was correct but they managed to get our dates wrong and then blamed the booking company, although our dates with the booking company were confirmed and all matched. Had already sold our room to someone else when we arrived then didn't change the booking dates and sold our room on the last night while we were still there and then tried to question our dates again, while trying to make us feel ungrateful that we were given an upgraded room that we didn't actually ask for. We felt there was a great degree of incompetence in this area as it is a lovely hotel, we had no other complaints with the house staff, our stay, and meals Safety: we felt comfortable to walk about freely even in the evenings to get meals and return Walkability: things are fairly close and buses and trains are easily accessed
We attended Terrace Hotel for dinner and drinks. My husband ordered scotch fillet with mash potatoes and vegetables. We were informed that there were not any vegetables available so he had to have salad and chips. I ordered steak sandwich. The drink I ordered - from drinks menu - was also not available ‍. Our meals took over an hour to be served - simple pub food. My son and husband got their meals and I waited another 10 mins for my meal. My husband’s steak was cold. My son’s schnitzel was a good size and fresh. My steak sandwich was very average. Steak was cooked “blue’ and the smallest piece of steak I have ever seen. Great location and ok service. However, the food was definitely not worth the wait or the price. Very disappointing. We will definitely not return.
It was a real shame, the rooms were lovely, super spacious and great location in the city. Overnight we killed multiple mosquitos, my wife being bitten on the face. The staff were really helpful and changed our room but despite using mosquito repellent we still had a few bites. Not ideal. There was also no confirmation email on booking and made finding out any details about the room quite tricky.
Great location and nice staff. We came for breakfast on Sunday morning but there was only one solitary person to take orders, serve, make coffees etc, and one person in the kitchen! Simply not sufficient for the requirements! The person serving Riley deserves a medal for his people skills and attentive service - but our breakfasts never arrived. We waited 90 minutes! Got a refund, but disappointed! Please support your staff!
Poor communication. We had accidentally mixed up our bookings and I rang them for assistance. Originally they said it would be ok and said they would get back to me. They never got back to me and I had to follow up multiple times and then got asked to send an email which was never replied to. It was super stressful not getting an answer as we were just trying to enjoy part of our baby moon. We then got told upon check in they would sort something out with the booking company but got charged the full amount. Breakfast wasn't any good if you have any dietary requirements. Disappointed in the communication and made the stay stressful.
Came here for lunch today, we were the only ones there, and we had to wait over an hour for really substandard food. The steaks we ordered were all undercooked and chewy, cold, and not enjoyable at all . My steak was mostly fat and sinew and very tough to eat. The other guests also had food that wasn't very edible. We didn't want to wait another hour to send it back, so we ended up leaving disappointed. We won't come back again.
Great for after work drinks, a cocktail or two and hanging out with mates. Food is extremely reasonably priced, and the specials go down a treat. Will be back!
