A beautiful restaurant with a very elegant atmosphere, yet incredibly comfortable and inviting. The soft background music adds to the relaxed vibe. They offer an excellent selection of wines from Te Motu Vineyard, with great opportunities to taste some outstanding vintages by the glass as well.nEvery dish we tried was exceptional — well-balanced, refined, and absolutely delicious. You can really taste the attention to detail. Highly recommended.nA true gem on Te Motu.
My favorite winery we visited on a day cycle trip around Waiheke. I loved everything--beautiful vineyard, garden, restaurant, wine, and Skipper, the dog! The chill vibes are perfect. The staff are absolutely wonderful, down to earth, and welcoming. I wished we had not just eaten lunch at a nearby winery. Trust me, just come straight here and enjoy excellent wine, fresh foods the homemade focaccia is a thing of beauty!, and be around lovely people. Highly recommend and hope we can return. Many thanks!
Best dining experience on the island! The food at Te Motu was simply incredible. Every single dish we got was a 10/10. It’s a must do when coming to Waiheke Great food paired with beautiful wines, what more do you want. Chef Rowan and his team were incredible and looked after us so well! We will be back
Relaxed, rustic charm with outstanding winesnnTe Motu Vineyard is a beautiful, laid-back vineyard that perfectly captures the essence of Waiheke. The setting is stunning — nestled among olive trees and rolling hills, with a relaxed outdoor dining area that feels natural, unpretentious, and welcoming.nnThe wines were excellent, bold yet well-balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Enjoying a glass under the canopy, surrounded by greenery and good company, made the experience feel slow and special in the best possible way. The food complemented the wines beautifully — simple, thoughtful, and satisfying.nnWhat really stands out is the atmosphere. It’s calm, authentic, and effortlessly charming — a place where you’re encouraged to linger, talk, sip, and enjoy the moment rather than rush through it.nnA must-visit on Waiheke Island for anyone who appreciates great wine, a relaxed vineyard vibe, and a genuinely memorable setting.
The Shed at Te Motu on Waiheke Island delivers a thoughtful, beautifully executed dining experience that perfectly reflects its vineyard setting. We started with the kohlrabi carpaccio, a light and elegant dish with burnt eggplant and citrus that set the tone for the meal. The crispy potatoes with spring onion and garlic aioli were addictive and generously seasoned.nnThe raviolo was a standout — filled with confit duck and finished with red wine jus and a rich yolk, it was indulgent without being heavy. The free-range pork chop with salsa verde and charred lettuce was cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and balanced with freshness and acidity.nnDessert was a highlight: the banana mochi brûlée with pink peppercorn ice cream and coconut was creative, comforting, and memorable — a perfect way to finish.nnThe food is clearly produce-driven and seasonal, the service attentive yet relaxed, and the rustic vineyard setting adds to the charm. A standout Waiheke dining experience that’s well worth the visit.
