They have new management and it's much better than the previous one. The owner or manager seems really lovely and the place was packed this Sunday which is a really good thing. We tried Bunuelos, Almojabana and Empanadas for entree and specially the empanadas were really tasty. The calentao was nice too, just a little advice for the Bandeja Paisa, it should be a little big bigger considering you are paying $24 and also a bigger plate cause Bandeja supposed to be a large oval plate for a big meal. Apart from that I think they are doing really well :
It's a quaint place next to the post office and the service was friendly enough. Unfortunately I found the food a bit of a let down. I had the bandeja paisa, the hero meal there; but it was a rather ordinary cobbled together meal of different parts. My red beans were a little cold, the pork belly was tough and felt microwaved, and the mince bland. The chirozo was terrific though?
Coffee is always exceptionally nice. Lunch menu burger was a surprise with is pattie, very juicy and cooked just right.
Special kind of place! Loved the food and coffees! Highly recommend!
By far the worst dining expedience I ever had.The food was horrible and the staff didn't understand what SKINNY LATTE is. They simply couldn't communicate properly or show any signs of understanding customer service and professionalism. The menu says it's vegan friendly however there was not even one vegan option and the labels for vegetarian and vegan did not make any sense. They said their "food" preparation will take 10 minutes however they took well over 20 minutes to finally bring us disgusting stale cold breakfast. The mushrooms was cold and the eggs my partner ordered was old and stale. The bread was the cheap $ 0.85 you get from grocery shops. Please avoid at all costs.
The coffee was good but the food was not. The breakfast roll was hard and stale and the egg in it was overcooked hard yolk. The empanadas were ok but very small portions for the price. The chai lattes were served luke warm. The service was not very good - had to ask for things that should be standard, like teaspoons with the hot drinks, water refill, etc. Plates not cleared after we ate so the next 20 minutes flies buzzed around us. We will not return.
As I've been to Colombia several times, I may be a harsh judge; the food is not bad but not very authentic Colombian: the empanadas have too much mashed potato vs meat, the ajiaco soup didn't have the right seasoning and very thinly shredded chicken meat. Close but no cigar sorry, good if you want some decent food but not the full Colombian experience. Gave us a free dessert, thanks!
Sadly my experience at this place was not good. To call it a McDonald's version of Colombian food would be an insult to McDonalds. When the arepas you've ordered come defrosted but still hard as a rock with a melted "Kraft Singles" cheese slice on top you know you've made a huge mistake. I wanted to like this place I really did! After visiting Sonido Arepas house in Melbourne or the recently opened "Macondo" restaurant in Salisbury our family's appetite for Colombian food has certainly grown but after ordering Ajiaco a bland chicken and corn soup as our main we couldn't wait to leave. I see a lot 5 star reviews on Facebook but I can only imagine this place either has terrific coffee or it was once a superb Colombian restaurant in a past life, unfortunately we will never find out as we aren't likely to return.
Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. The coffee was weak which is surprising considering it is 'columbian'. We ordered two lunch dishes and waited 50 minutes for our food to come while watching everyone who came in after us get served. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt so went to ask where our food was and the chick was like 'unm what? What food?' And I was like 'the food I paid $56 for?' And she very calmly said 'oh we forgot' - no sorry or anything. I got a refund and high tailed it out of there.
My partner and I went in as the coffee place we were going for was closed. The ambience was plain vanilla, nothing special. The food was cold eggs and mushrooms which was surprising as we did mention that we are in a hurry and the food clearly been sitting out for at least 10 minutes. The service was horrible and unfriendly. Overall this place wins the 2017 award for worst experience
