Called ahead to place an order on Friday night and the shop was PACKED when we got there. The staff are friendly and efficient. A perfect “no frills” charcoal chicken and chips.

Half a chicken, chips and salad plus two corn on the cobs for $15. Outstanding value and two very full happy adults! My only regret is not finding out about this place years ago!

I travel all over Melbourne for work and this one's the best chicken in town bar none. It's a old family business and the dedication to a great take away meal really shows....the birds are spiced with a special Greek influenced lemon/rosemary/oregano/sage? blend and if you are there in the shop when the owner sprinkles the magic it's an extra special moment. Chips are of a consistently high standard and we always go for the Greek Salad as that is also a reliable and perfect accompaniment. We live in Coburg and Tasty Rooster is always busy on a Friday at peak time expect a line out the door and has become a local landmark really.
