I was in Target today and had to leave. The constant beeping from the security stickers/tags was driving me batty. There is no option to deactivate while purchasing, so every item with a sticker beeps through two sets of security exits. It just didn’t let up and could be heard throughout the whole store. Door lady wasn’t stopping anyone because people were obviously paying for their items. It wasn’t achieving anything except driving me batty. What a terrible set up.
I went in to look for a book today which I couldn’t find so I ended up leaving the store without buying anything, when I was leaving it started to beep so I came back in and it was beeping again and the lady who was standing at the door wanted to check my bag which was fine and expected, but the way she acted towards me wasn’t, I showed her my receipts of the things I bought earlier on and had to rummage through my bag to show her nothing was in there my bag was very full as I was just coming back from being out the night so I had heaps of clothes, etc, she then wanted to look inside my toiletries bag and at this point I’m red in the face and embarrassed as she was rude and her service was poor, she treated me like a thief when I obviously was not one and even after pulling the things out of my toiletries bag she still treated me not as a customer but as if I was guilty. I told her I had been out the night and that’s why I had so much in my bag and maybe the beeping was just from some of my clothes or something but she cut me off mid sentence and told me “I don’t need to hear your excuses” and seemed to still refuse to believe that I was innocent and turned around and walked away from me. It was extremely rude and made me feel very embarrassed. To add whilst she was doing the search through my things the other customers leaving the store were also beeping yet she did not pull them up at all.
Pretty much just your average target store. there really isn't much to say about it.
I purchased at Big W because I did not have to self check out.
It's good to see that businesses still have greeters, it's a nice thing to hear someone say hello when you walk in the door. The staff are quite friendly, and knowledgeable. They usually have a good level of stock. And some good deals/clearance items. It's also nice to see the store renovate after a long time being the same.
