We had dinner on Friday night, always busy and crowded on weekends here. The clay pot chicken and black bean beef were too salty with heavy sauces, but large portions. Chicken and prawn dumplings taste really good. Highly recommended the dumplings.

I've ordered from Tao maybe 15 times.. It's always super delicious, with high quality ingredients, and carefully packaged. Their dumplings, curries and speciality dishes are all excellent and have never missed a beat.
Always Love Taos - I’d probably eat there approximately 15-20 times per year. The Veg dumplings & Spring rolls are my Fave. We frequently attend post our team softball game around 2015. The food is excellent, well priced & consistent
Unfortunately I usually enjoy this restaurant, however tonight I left feeling sick, the pan fried pork dumplings were very undercooked, slimy, pink/raw meat was smeared on the edges of the pastry which alerted me when it came out and then inside the filling was the same, the texture was very unpleasant and not right. I informed the staff who told me it was cooked because it is juicy...despite the colour and texture. I didn’t feel comfortable eating them so taken them home to further cook myself.. as they were going to charge me anyways for them. Very disappointing they didn’t offer to re-cook or re-make the dish for me as I raised my concerns twice with different staff, and usually not fussy at all with food but tonight I wasn’t able to finish my meal and left unsatisfied and concerned I might end up ill. I will be going elsewhere for dumplings from now on and not recommending this place as this was not a good experience and the staff didn’t care. Just happy to charge after I told them I wasn’t able to eat them only eating 1/6 dumplings . The Xio Long Bao are very nice and tasty and no issues with these so do recommend this dish.
Visiting from Sydney and decided to try this dumpling restaurant out in Toorak. We were extremely happy with our choice, the place was packed, they have two levels. Friendly staff, fast service, even with how busy the place was. Since it was just two of us we only ordered three items Pan Fried Dumplings, Deep Fried Green Beans with Minced Pork and Fried Eggplant with Sweet Chilli. Everything was amazing! So tasty and generous portions. We ordered another serving of plain rice and had the leftovers for breakfast Our bill came to $65. Including two drinks. Will recommend this place to all my Melbourne Family to try for themselves. I loved the Deco and comfy tables and chairs! Will be back!

The dumplings here is good, really. They have a good taste of chilli oil that match with all the dishes. It's good to share to try many dishes as they come out in a sharing portion.
Dumplings are clean fresh tasting and full of flavour - one of the better dumpling places around, ingredients seem to be of a good quality. We also tried the Shandong crispy chicken, flavours are authentic and the sauce really makes the dish. Love the old school decor - good service despite the busy dinner sitting.
