This is one of the first Thai places we visited in Melbourne. It was one of the Groupon vouchers that offer pretty good deals. When it comes to groupon, the quality could be bit unpredictable. When we got there, it was bit of a relief. The place is an authentic Thai eatery run by Thai people. The deco is very classy, bit different from the usual Thai eateries in Australia. This is actually quite common among nice restaurants in Thailand. The food wasn’t amazing, but solid for what we paid: $18 for 2 dishes. The service is also attentive. We don’t mind visiting the place again without a voucher.
Delicious Pad Thai! I ordered the chicken Pad Thai, after a few bites I found the noodles a bit chewy because they weren't completely cooked. I asked nicely if they could cook it a bit more, and instead they brought me out a whole new chicken Pad Thai meal. Really appreciated this customer service! The desert was soooo good!!! I can't remember what it was called, they recommended their popular strawberry desert, if you show them this picture they'll know. Presentation was also very nice The restaurant itself is small and cosy, with nice decor, and a lot of things are reasonably priced! Overall, a great experience. They also have a vegan version of the menu which is great for vegans!
Food was good. Would have been perfect if they used fresh rice noodles instead of dried noodles. Vietnamese restaurants often serve fresh rice noodles and it tastes much better It was 36° outside and there was no fan or aircon inside. We could only had a bit of wind came through the main door *.* I visited again and aircon still didn't work. Tom yum soup was too sweet. Drunken noodle was too salty.
Came here with the Groupon voucher expecting standard service and food but I was blown away by the food quality! Ands the staff were super friendly :

Food was really good. Unlike others who found the food was too sweat, I actually liked the sweat, sour and spicy taste, closer to the Thai food I have known for a long time. Serving size is very small. I didn't feel quite full after my meal, and needed to fill my tummy with some other great food around.
I feel sorry for the staff on service. Monday night, one person to man 4 tables, countless uber orders and refilling refreshments. Firstly, the friendly staff didn't record the order on a notepad of any sort, and I confirmed the order again out of doubt. We ended up with a series of waiting on hot water refills for tea, order changes due to lack of stock, wrong orders. Despite not getting worked up, I feel that there needs to be a major overhaul on the staff rostering and clearer communication of the kitchen to floor on what's available and what's not. It felt like a degustation, if not for entertaining guests, I would have left immediately. I don't know how this restaurant fairs on the weekend, but with your good ratings on Google, you should definitely uphold your standards throughout. Cutting cost doesn't do you any good. Invest in more staff, and stock up, or downsize your menu.
We got a 2 person three course dinner Groupon Voucher for Tamra Siam. I'm not going to lie, the service was average but I wouldn't say it was horrible. The waitresses were nice and were the most willing to accept my groupon voucher of all the places I've used one have been treated 2nd class for having a groupon on a few occasions. Our entree came quickly and was delicious and quite a large serve for the two of us so we were quite happy to wait longer for our mains. The staff did need to be reminded about our drinks and cutlery so yes, the service wasn't top notch and they were clearly understaffed but we were quite happy and they were very quick to sort us out when we spoke up. When our mains arrived they were fantastic. We paid a couple of extra dollars for soft-shell crab which was delicious and again, a massive serve. Unfortunately, the large table next to us decided the service was unbearable Like I said it was not very good but you could tell they were trying and I've had worse. A man from their table who were using the groupon for 6 people complained about the service and demanded free dessert for everyone despite that not being on the deal for the groupon. As the waitress walked away he even laughed with his companions about it. It turned out not everyone even wanted dessert but he still demanded they all get extra ice cream. The staff brought everyone an ice cream without complaint. He then proceeded to abuse the young waitress who happened to be the most helpful, yelling in her face very aggressively. The entire restaurant was silent and he had essentially destroyed the vibe in there for everyone. Apparently the extra free ice-creams the table got were on scoop and not two like the paid ones and that warranted screaming at the waitress, accusing her of personally 'cheating him'. It was absolutely disgusting behaviour and I tried to comfort the staff afterward but wished I had confronted him at the time, I was just in shock. I imagine this person will leave a terrible review for this place which they should have just done in the first place rather than ruin it for everyone and behave in that manner. Due to this incident and our mains being so filling we actually declined having dessert but they looked really yummy. I would not recommend coming here if you are a nit-picking and impatient person. It's a very cheap, good value groupon if you're willing to put up with a little faulty service. hopefully they will rectify this in time with more staff and more experience otherwise the food is really good and generous serves. We loved it, we just wish this man and his guests weren't there! I hope he sees this and perhaps thinks twice next time before being stingy and aggressive over a $100 paid for 6 people to eat! I understand the service was crap and he mustn't have had as good a meal as we did but there was no excuse for that behaviour. Were your party so intolerable you couldn't focus on having a good time instead of getting more bang for your buck on a bloody cheap groupon voucher? FFS. Thank you Tamra Siam for a good night despite this. We will be back, maybe in a quieter time.
On a Groupon voucher or a family of four wouldn't go out. Most disappointing, food delivery slow, entree ok, mains served with minuscule amounts of meat/chicken and veg. Prices are reasonable though. My boys needed a pizza afterwards they were starving. Might enjoy our Thai meals further north.
