I've been coming here for years but the man at the roast meats place needs an attitude check. Asked him for roast duck and pork on rice but he refused to serve me duck. I pointed to the half duck laying there and asked him about it if he didn't want to chop up a whole duck but he shouted at me saying NO! I can clearly see that he does not want any business. It's sad that this person is tarnishing Taiping's reputation.
Love this shop. I English don't read what on half the items sold but l have had some really good experiences. Great vege dept., great duck and BBQ pork etc., nice bakery goods. Friendly people staff and customers who assist me when l puzzled. Give it a whirl it worth it.
Good selection of produce and pantry items, but terrible customer service. The woman at the counter was more interested in her conversation with the other cashier. She threw the receipt towards me, didn’t even look at me or say a word. Not coming back here!
I found this place pricy Even though the food & Veg price overall in NZ is high. This place use to be an economical place to buy fruits & Vegetables ,but now no more now.
This morning, I grabbed the last 3 Spinach bags off the shelf small bag section as it was advertised on the wall, small $2.49 and big bags $7.99 … there were none available on the $7.99 shelf. When I got to the checkout, I was charged 1 @ $7.99 and 2 @ 2.49 I said to the operator that it was advertised at $2.49 per bag; and the bags I got were in the ‘small bags’ shelf, she wouldn’t listen so she called another worker in the store who came and said it’s $7.99 without going to the shelf to verify… so I said, I wouldn’t take the $7.99 bag and will only take the 2 x $2.49, I didn’t check the receipt in store when I paid until I got home and see that I was charged $7.99 per bag for the two small bags.. I often shopped at this store, I found it disconcerting that operators could hardly understand what I was talking about .. today demonstrated daylight robbery on the side of TaiPing and I wonder who else got ripped off because of the incompetence of the workers. .. the service was very poor and the operators were talking in their own language
Super bad customer service. Hugh price tag $3.59 but actually charged $8.95. When we went back talk to them, the lady with vary strong attitude at the counter told us its not their problem and wont do anything about it. Never go back shop again.
Congratulations to your new ownership, and great job tidying up the store. It's no wonder it's now brighter and neater, will definitely come in more often. Just a little tricky finding your parking when it gets dark, adding signage or lightings by the turning lane should help.
Good variety of Asian groceries and cheap fruit and veges. This is also a good source of the more exotic Asian ingredients that you cannot find in the International aisle of your local supermarket. There is also a fish and butchery section here if you are wanting fresh meats and a mini restaurant that sells roasted meat meals if you're hankering for an Asian lunch.
This shop has been revamped and has a new interior. It covers fruit n vege, fish, duck n BBQ pork, butchery, frozen dept and Asian grocery. Prices are reasonable and well worth the visit. Recommend to one and all.
My first time here with family. We're from Hastings and before we return we come here to stock up our Chinese food. Good store.
