Countdown is very famous place for shopping in New Zealand. All the food stuff is available and cheaper than the retail shops. 

Have the option to buy fresh fruit and variety of vegetable at very good prices and have the option to buy organic products at little higher price. 

Have plenty of selection for milk product, different kind of fresh milk in different volumes, many kind of butter and cheese products available. What I not found was dried milk as we found more famous in Asian countries. 

Variety of meat and fish and seafood option available and big pronse are available as cleaned and row. 

Bakery items are very popular here and can have the bread at cheaper price for NZD1 when the expire date is closer, such as with in 3-4 days expire. But still in very good quality. Have many other bakery products including different types of pizza to be prepared at home.

Many kind of seed products as canned available and also fresh fruit as canned and these are in very good price. 

There are different kind of seeds available with toasted and with different mixtures.

Big variety of chocolate collection also available. 

Near the entrance fresh flowers also available and prices are cheaper as I felt.

The above are what I found interesting for me. But there are many other food options available where I forgot to mention.

Highly recommend for nice shopping experience.

Really really bad customer experience on Easter Monday at Countdown Pakuranga store. I have been waiting for quite a long time, due to the self service machine needs staff attention, one of the staff at the customer service counter already saw.me.and noted me wait, and he started to service other queue, and another staff he aslo saw me but he started to sevice other customers in the self check out area, I was.the.last one he came to help. There is no "Sorry " he said becasue they are very busy, and he is not resting, seems like he.has not done anything wrong, and i should just wait untill he got time !  Is that Countdown not treat customer first ?!

Check your stock. I bought yoplait greekstyle yoghurt on 1/1/18 only to find the best before is 26/12/17.

Feel uncomfortable shopping there as a person of colour, one lady at the front was pretending to sort out the baskets but was visibly just shuffling them around while trying to peek inside my handbag, which I fully opened for her to have a look because I was angry that she might've assumed I was stealing. Bad customer service and staff are unfriendly
