Great day today at the open day...learned a lot...got up close to the beehives....had a honey tour...bought some honey and had great food at the cafe...open day is once a year so if you missed it then put it in your diary for next year...or maybe get a group of friends and organise a tour with them...

My husband and I stayed at Tahi in May 2017, and we are hoping to book a cottage again this summer. We stayed at Hiwi, a beautifully decorated but low key house with two bedrooms. The weather was beautiful, and Hiwi looks out over a beautiful beach. A very nice touch was the fire built for us in the log burner. We were also able to access the walks through Tahi's restored nature retreat, and spotted lots of native birds up close. Lovely peaceful break. Tahi is quite isolated, so I recommend bringing provisions. The kitchen is well set up for cooking.
