Fries and the salad was amazing, however the medium rump steak was like eating leather. Would be better if it was better quality. Staff was amazing. Service was good. Bathrooms were clean. The vodka orange for $8.50 was cheap as.
Really great place. The presentation of food was beautiful. The customer service was wonderful. We got free wine for Christmas which was a pleasant surprise. Really appreciative of the atmosphere and the quality of food and service. Only issue was the nuggets coming late, but staff were so kind and resolved the issue with empathy and attentiveness.
Me and my husband stayed here for 3 nights. What can i say the food was tremendous especially loved the curry sauce so tracked it down and brought it back to the UK: super selection of beers and what can I say we became members of the top table roll on our next trip here :
The pub had a good atmosphere, food was nice, although considering it was a "Pommie Fest" the lack of English ales and beers etc was very disappointing. Service was prompt but staggered, all meals coming at different times. Also not having the option to pay for the meal over the counter and only by phone was not to my liking.
Very average meal. Crab cakes were greasy deep fried and more mush potato? than actual crab. Rib eye - ordered medium rare steak but was well done and came with brocollini, gluey mash and a grilled tomato. Lamb shank didnt impress. Kids burger was actually great value for $12. Adults all had kids menu food envy!!. Still heaps of big bits of broken glass under our table - from night before - hopefully not longer? Not great if they are wanting families there for Sunday lunch. Over $100 for 2 mains, one entree and one kids meal. Plus drinks.
Trying to save money on wages by making customers order their own food with their phones is another example of why hospitality venues are losing money and can’t find staff. Decided to leave and not even eat here after seeing the sign on the bar saying customers have to order with a QR code. Instead we went to VAT 116 and we were served by the most friendly bar person who was super helpful and kind! There are several reasons why I won’t eat at a place that forces customers to use QR codes: 1. I don’t want to enter my personal information on an app just to eat out. 2. What if I want to ask questions about something on the menu or ask for a change such as chips instead of mash? What about people who have allergies, are pregnant or have special needs? 3. I don’t want to be sitting around playing with my phone when we are going out for a meal as a family. We don’t have phones at the table at home. 4. Its completely impersonal, it replaces real people interacting with your customers. People come back not just for the good food, people like to go out to places where the staff are friendly and helpful. 5. Are people ordering food “holding up service” so you can ply more people with alcohol at a faster rate? What happened to a food order till? Oh or would that would mean paying an extra staff member? 6. Do the chefs just get completely swamped with orders, in my experience a real human person taking the orders would have the skills to slow down orders for the chefs and give a heads up to customers on wait times. 7. What about the elderly and less tech savvy? 8. What if I make a mistake on my order or click the wrong thing? So who pays for that? I do hope to see this QR code thing die out very soon, I was really looking forward to sitting with my family in the beer garden today for lunch! I haven’t been to the Pig in years, just happened to be im Rockingham today and thought I would come in. I guess I won’t be coming back again unless this changes.
We walked into the main bar not realising that there were other places we could have eaten so my review and rating should be taken in that context. The service was friendly but the meal took a while - almost 30 mins for bangers and mash and fish and chips. My fish was grilled and was a little on the dry side but my husband loved his meal. The front bar was a little confronting - I was the only woman in there apart from the bar attendant. The music was good though. I wish we had been told or asked if we would like to go to the outside area as it wasn’t obvious from where we entered.
Food surprisingly good, not too salty. Will try to go back with bigger party. Only downside is the price but definitely a five stars.
Nice place, nice food but as a non smoker sitting outside at an area where non smoking tables too close to smoking tables makes it unendurable.
Loved this place, nice food and good service.
