Using a discount voucher, I ordered a family size of fish & chips. I got around 500gr of fish, squid rings, 4 pcs of crab sticks, 4 pcs of dim sum. These were mentioned by the staff when I asked how many fishes and what I would get. The portion was more than enough for 4 people to eat. The staff was friendly and a quick service from him.
The fish was fresh and well done. But the food was slightly oily. Dine in felt a bit oily as well. Please be aware they charge for extra sauce. If you like to douse your fish and chips in tartare or tomato sauce and you're cheap, make sure you buy sauce from IGA next door. Go around via green and co make sure you buy coffee from them after saving money on sauce.
Delicious fish, well cooked, pleasant staff. They don't give as many chips as other fish and chip restaurants do in the area, but it's quality over quantity. It can get a little busy during dinner time, but there are plenty of staff.
Great fish and chips with good prices. It is even better when having a discount voucher. They have a rewards program which I have not used much yet. It is a choice place for take away for our family because each fish and chips comes with 2 pieces of fish.
Been here two times with my mom and the product has never failed us. We ordered a feast for 2 for both visits. You'll be served 4 pieces of fish, 4 pieces of scallops, 4 pieces of prawns, 8 pieces of squid rings and plenty chips. We only managed to finish the entire feast during our second visit and the portion is incredibly huge! If you ever want to order a feast for 2, make sure you come with an empty stomach, otherwise, it would be difficult to finish the food.
We generally love this place. We were there again last night with another couple, we had the Seafood Platter for two, we have had this on many occasion, and the seafood is wonderful. The service is wonderful with friendly staff. We only go to Leederville, we do dine in as we are far from home. My complaint is the last two times we have been there we have notice that the shop is full of smell of smoke and the oil smell is over the top. The floors are very slippery even last night. The fish tank above the seats is also greasy and dirty. I feel maybe some house cleaning skills need to be applied. My clothes when we get home are stinking of oil and smoke, Why? When we have never had this problem before? Maybe the oil needs changing more often, the floors need washing more often as well. You feel dirty when you leave. I don't have the answers maybe you have, but please sort this out. Its turning us off coming back
For a fish and chip place, they did a terrible job! The chips are like eating flour and the fish is less than tasty. Waiting time takes forever and they forgot our dip for all three platters. Been there 4 times and won't come again. My daughter had been wanting a vanilla chai all night and I finally let her, she then came back after sad saying "I waited 5 minutes for someone to come to the counter no queue and when I ordered the guy didn't even know it was on the menu, he said they don't have any at ALL" she said they treated her like she didn't know what she was ordering.
We had a guy come around with a platter of fish, salt and pepper squid and something else. The salt and pepper squid wasn’t battered at all and was absolutely delicious. We got a voucher from them to get more squid as well as a meal, the batter from the fish fell off and the chips were cold and we got battered squid. We also had to wait about 35 mins for our food. Will not be coming back here in a hurry.
Spent $35 on fish and chips for 2 with a small serve of squid rings. We got an absolutely pathetic amount of chips. Not even enough for one person. Also didn't put any salt and vinegar on the chips or offer to put any on. We have been going to sweetlips for years but we'll be never going again and are extremely disappointed.
Purchased over $90 worth of fish and chips last night. The chips were dry and overcooked and the barramundi was greasy, 'fishy' tasting and overcooked. There are plenty of honest local fish and chip shops that will provide you with far superior food at a more reasonable price. If you want to charge what you do and claim to be "Fancy", you better learn how to make fish and chips first.
