I tried being diplomatic and tried to send this complaint to the Sweat Shop Brew Kitchen management team directly through their website, but the complaint system doesn't even work (pic attached, personal info removed) so here it is. I was denied entry on Saturday night because I was wearing my rainbow-coloured pants from the gay-pride parade that I participated in. I was told by the bouncer (with who I assume was the duty manager in tow) there was a dress code, which I said I completely understood, but that I had just come from the gay-pride parade and surely they could make an exception for the night so I could join my friends. The bouncer replied with " I don't care if you are gay, there is still a dress code" (I'm not gay, was actually pretty keen to get in to meet some bunnies waiting for me inside, that ended up leaving with me anyway). I again said "allgood bro, you are just doing your job, I used to work security too". Then the guy in a grubby singlet, ripped jeans and old sneakers shook the bouncers hand and rocked in like an old mate. Long story short, if you are going to enforce your dress code, actually enforce it and don't disrespect people you have denied because of it by letting people in that look like they have been on a raft, lost at sea for the last six months. A disappointing show of favouritism and ignorance. I doubt my friends and I will be back.

Had a recent company night out and to be honest I think the place has a policy of taking the bar tab and then with order of duty manager getting rid of you. One of our co-workers was told to leave for no reason at all. The food was very average, which consisted of bread rolls a couple of choices of meat and coleslaw of which you made your on filled roll. Not a place I would recommend or be back to.

Hello, Last night, I came on a nice and fun girl's night out with my boss and other managers at our favorite hangout. It was almost spoiled by one of your bouncers, short with curly dark hair. He was not going to let me in because apparently I was stumbling from across the road. You would agree with me that the road and pavements infront of your place has uneven surfaces which are then tricky and unsafe to walk on especially at night. I am post operation from an ACL and being a typical girl who wears high heels when going clubbing. For this, I'd always lean on a friend to assist me to the place then I'd be fine on my own. Your bouncer saw this and immediately assumed that I was too intoxicated to be allowed entry and refused me at the door even when we all tried to explain. He wouldn't even take into account that I could converse well and not slurring etc. I didn't want him to spoil our night so fortunately I asked for the manager who was good to us and sensible after I had explained the situation. Your bouncer was just very cheeky in my opinion and being very silly. I told your night manager as well as him that bouncers like him are the reason for a lot of negative reviews on your website. Please train them well in being capable of making sensible decisions and treating people well otherwise they'll be reason in losing a lot of customers for you. There are a lot of other places and clubs we can go to but we choose your's. We have been there many times with my colleagues. I have organized dinners and outings at your place and we have had very good services even from the other bouncers. I hope my feedback would be actioned asap and the bouncer concerned be spoken to and this serves as a reminder to the team. To end on a positive note. We had a blast and were the last to leave and the team at the bar were very attentive and prompt with providing us water at the end of each dancing spree. Thank you😊 Regards, Theresa

Pretty good place to come for a beer, have a great selection on tap. Can't honestly say I have tried the food here yet. But from what I've seen it looks pretty good as well.

Stopped by to watch an all blacks game in the outdoor area. The place was quite large, large dining area, outdoor area as well as an area around the back which looks like its for private functions. They have a few different beers on offer that they brew themselves. Quite nice place. Their pizza also looked alright. Looks like a nice place to eat but beware that they switch to a club at 9pm (it was a saturday when we went).
