Advise pre book early as you will need a voucher.. offically. Ben who runs flight operations was very helpful and made us very welcome. Captain Chris was very professional on his talk through before and during the flight and has a brilliant sense of humour! The scenery on the beautiful day we went up, was absolutely stunning....we highly recomend doing it.
Thank you so much for giving the girls such a fantastic experience with their skydive. Very professional from beginning to end. The instructors kept the girls calm and made their skydive such an enjoyable experience. They raised money for Brain Tumour Research.
The flying club is excellent and everyone there is really really friendly as well as helpful. Issue is some of the facilities are rather lacking and unkempt. Main runway is shut down with no clear evidence of repair plans in place. And the other usable parts of the airport are in need of repairs. However, the experience that you will get flying over the gower is unparalleled. It is absolutely gorgeous and honestly, if some of the facilities were improved, it would be a very very lively place.
I love this place the breakfast there is perfectvthe beaches stretch for miles and have many entrance points right the way along with many car parks also. You can easily find a quiet spot to relax and enjoy the soft, hot sand and cool sea. One of our favorite beaches. Also has busier spots that have play areas for the children and cafes etc.
We love going down, on the off chance we see something.. The dog loves a run around.. its a pity there isn't anywhere for a coffee..
Trying to get hold of any body to get permission to land. We were planning a day trip from Cornwall. Called 28 times for 3 hours from 8:30. Most infuriating! the next day we called, the third time somebody picked up and said "oh yes we are open all of yesterday". Obviously open but nobody capable of picking a phone up or responding to email, Very poor...
I done a charity skydive for The British Liver Trust in memory of my partner Mathew Rees who passed away August 13th 2016. The whole experience was amazing and the team at Swansea were incredible. Good job all I loved it.
A pleasant trip from Halfpenny Green on 29th November 2016 returning via Elan Valley. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, would recommend as a regular destination. Airfield closed on Mondays and there is a mixture of LH and RH circuits so its important to ensure that you check before visiting. Because of my flying altitude, my hearing was badly affected, if you have the same problem it may be advisable to make a low very wide circuit to equalise ear pressure before contacting ATC. A very big thank you to all airport staff.
Absolutely rubish came to visit no cafe no vending machines working no flights flying derelict buildings no one there only a few boys in a flying office what a waste of an airport absolute disgrace ro swansea we need to re develop the airport make swansea like Cardiff and make things happen this government has to go and that airport manager shocking airport don't deserve to be an airport no commercial flights what a waste zwansea airport is going to the dogs so such a shame sort it out swansea airport and council wow what's going on shame!!!
Calling this an Airport is a slight exaggeration. Airfield would be Moor appropriate. I counted one small aircraft doing circuits and bumps in the time I was there and I am not aware of any scheduled for flights to to Llundain or say Spain. Not sure if runway is long enough and one presumes Cardiff and to close to make a it viable. The biggest disappointment and for me was the the apparent permanent jobs closure of the cafe. Every aerodrome as I would describe Fairford Common worth its salt should have one and it's a great shame if it's no longer be viable. Fly be now flies to to Llundain the from Cardiff. Given the fact Swansea city is further maybe the Swansea city council and chamber of commerce should encourage Flyby or similar to airline tickets to add Swansea city to the public network. I believe Air Wales with used to fly from Swansea city to Llundain. If that happens maybe the cafe will be reopen.
