Well, I have been coming here since it opened as a kid. Early 80's. Owners have changed, but the special fried rice, oh the best rice, anywhere, hands down, I love it and love it on it's own, has never, ever changed in all this time. The egg, the generous prawns, mushrooms, chicken, not a billion bamboo shoots either. It was a really big shame that the new owner didn't continue with the Chinese New Year celebrations, dragon, dance, fire, etc, all the locals came to watch each day, celebrate, and it's very clever marketing my friends. You spend a bit on sharing Chinese culture, everyone remembers and came from all around to see, to be a part of it. It was an absolutely iconic little local bit of Chinese culture, good luck, and talked about for long after the week and celebrations were over You could hear it for km's. It gets people talking about YOU. You will be rewarded if you were to bring it back. Seriously... Clever marketing, promoting if you consider the business to follow my friends. In 2024 to not have as little as your up to date menu posted online anywhere is a little bit of a shame because if you put in a little more effort, the glory days could easily return and a packed restaurant. Apart from the best fried rice ever, I love the sesame prawn toast, big juicy prawn chunks, lavished in sesame seeds. Yum. The deep fried chilli beef is absolutely delicious. The salt and pepper squid, and also fish is exquisite - but DON'T get it home delivered, or even take away. Has to be ordered in restaurant like most squid, fish dishes or is soggy, no one can prevent this, nothing the chef can do about it. In 2024, they still don't even deliver. Your kinda missing a huge market guys. And the last menu on Facebook page was 2020 and not even the full menu, probably not even your post. Come on guys, step up. Let your young staff get you up to date, online at least, post some pictures, get a facebook page, Instagram, some fun, some yummy food, pics, families couples, locals enjoying your food, and cash in on the local home delivery market. You are seriously losing so much business because you don't, have any presence. There's nothing really to find online. So you only have locals, word of mouth and clients like me that have been coming for 40 years. PLEASE KNOW THAT THESE PICTURES ARE TAKE-AWAY, JUST BEING OPENED 3 HOURS AFTER BEING COLLECTED. Yum, see ya, we are going to eat and it's still a little warm oh, and you rarely get bonus prawn crackers nowadays. Huge, generous bag, fresh, we have eaten way more than half Please excuse the menu having some oil. It was on the bottom of the box of food with a bag of prawn toast on top. Preferred to post menu as there's nothing current online.
We were their last customers but they were so friendly and patient. I simply love the taste of food. They were delicious, tasty, authentic and generous portions. Also, the atmosphere was unique.Food: 5/5
Had just watched a film at the nearby Cinema in Innaloo and wanted to get some take away. The initial idea was to dine in but around 8:45pm, the restaurant claimed that the kitchen was about to close up soon. Ordered our take away by phone and picked up around 8:55pm. To our surprise the restaurant had one large table of customers left but a few Uber/Deliveroo drivers waiting for a pick up. For an establishment that doesn't have any exterior windows, an empty fish-tank as well as an interesting Wooden double door entrance, it has a certain charm about it. The Kueh Teow and Hor Fun was delicious and had all the hallmarks of the right balance of flavours and spice. And might add the servings were enough to last for left overs the next day. Parking: Heaps of parking on a Saturday night albeit it was closer to 9:00 PM
Three Burnt dishes tasted awful. Won’t be going back. Prawn toast was the only niceFood: 1/5
Oh such grand delight for my taste buds. Sure the waitress who is a member of the family business, is exhausted and so not the friendliest but at least she’s honest. The lunch specials were very reasonably priced and the portions were HUGE. This place is becoming a new favourite, delicious and comforting. I had lunch special of sweet and sour chicken and friend rice; the friend rice was steamy with the best fire fried taste to it. The sweet and sour chicken was yum and crunchy. We arrived at 2:20 and our food came out super quickly. Which was amazing. We had meat spring rolls to share which were not great but the dipping sauce they came with was excellent. My friend had lunch special of chilli beef and fried rice, she loved it. They know how to do a lunch special super well, and make you feel cared for. I’ll be back and try their extensive dinner menu
We had Braised Satay Beef, Lemon Chicken and Special Fried Rice. Really delicious. The satay was nice and nutty and a little bit spicy, the chicken was a perfect combination of lemony and sweet, and the rice was tasty. Good servings too. Its a bit out of our way to visit often but I definitely recommendFood: 4/5
If I ever feel like Chinese food I come here, even though it’s 30 minutes away from home. All I can say is come down for dinner and see for yourselves and I can guarantee you will fall in love with the food and service. By far the best Chinese food in the west! Vegetarian options: Tofu is delicious!
This is good old school Chinese. Comfort food and satisfaction knowing you’re going to get exactly what you had growing up. All your favourites can be found on the menu. It’s BYO and there is a liquor store next door in case you come unprepared. We had Fried Rice, Satay King Prawns, Chilli Chicken, Seafood Chow Mein and sizzling Steak. Everything was tasty and they were very generous serving sizes. Good value for money at about $30 each. Plenty of free parking out front.
Always my unshakable favourite Chinese, around the globe, as much of the globe as I’ve experienced as yet! I have literally been coming here for decades. Even after all these years and often years overseas, unable to visit, they remember me and always say “Peking pork chops of course Mr. Street, what else would you like tonight?” I return this evening - my mouth is watering already! Sorry, I didn’t get photos of the food - we were too busy eating it, delicious! There is a photo of the takeaway, Peking Pork Chops, Vegetable and tofu clay pot and Special fried rice I took home for the next day. Great for a gathering with family and friends, as you can see. Vegetarian options: There are many. Parking: Reasonable amount of free parking in front and can overflow into the market parking if need be. All free. Kid-friendliness: The kids love the fish tanks and high chairs are available. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entry.
Service was average , the food came out just the right temperature but the special fried rice was not that special, it came out presentable but the taste of the rice was a bit over cooked, their soup tasted doughy i.e. wontons, but overall I think it’s averageFood: 2/5
