Goodbye Surrey Hills Station, even though you served the local community well, you were kinda bad so I hope the new Union Station is better.

Great station but it will be permanently shut from the 17th of feb but a new station will take over and it will be called union.

Farewell Mont Albert and Surrey Hills Stations and we will never ever see them again.

No parking for 2-3 years while the State government destroys the station and cuts down over 500 trees along the rail corridor

To the people complaining about a suppossed lack of trains, almost all of them stop here including express trains. Stop complaining. As for the station itself it's a pretty quaint little station with some nice plants on the platform. Could use some more shelter though.

This station is okay.  The entrance is from an underpass, it leads onto a ca.1966 building, which is located at the very back of the platform partly due to a now-cancelled plan to bypass the current crossing.  The plan was for the CRB Country Roads Board now VicRoads since July 1989, who were then-responsible for roads, were planning an overpass that would connect Union Road to Warrigal Road. That would mean that a lot of nearby areas largely the Eastern side of Union Rd. between Montrose and Bedford and also one side of Alexandra Avenue. would need to be compulsorily acquired.  This nonetheless garnered a lot of opposition and eventually it was shelved in April 1979 by the then-Minister for Transport, Robert Maclellan then-member for Berwick, now an abolished VLA electorate. This is the reason why there are still crossings at Union Rd. and Mont Albert Rd., which are now also the last two crossings between Flinders St. and Ringwood.  With that out of the way, the seating is okay, there is a decent amount of it throughout the platform. The shelter could be improved, most of it is at the back of the platform, and the front of it has a lot less...  Most trains stop here, excluding the super-expresses.  Parking is difficult to find during weekdays as with most stations on the network.

Overall poor. No parking week days unless you arrive before 7 30am, with a ten minute walk the alternative. Not enough express trains stop here during peak times and when they do they often run late. In particular city bound express trains are late more often than not.

As this is a premium station I only wish/expect a greater number of express trains to and from the city to stop here...only wish we could live in a marginal electorate... then most things become possible

What a terrible facility! It’s outdated and not the slightest bit appealing. Ugly design too
