Burnett Senior Citizens had their Christmas Luncheon there today and wow what a fantastic day the service and staff were amazing they catered for our 103 members and guest's, all meals were served in a short time we were well looked after.nA huge Thank you to all staff there today for everything you did to make our day special for everyone who attended.
Last night I went for an early dinner with my parents at Sugarland tavern, arriving just after 5pm. The dining area was fairly empty and we placed our orders straight away. After we'd been waiting a while I looked over to the serving area wondering what was taking so long. I saw 2 meals sitting there ready to go and was hoping they were ours and they were just waiting on the 3rd meal. I watched as more meals came out and were served to other tables, and those 2 meals remained sitting there. After another half hour watching everyone who arrived after us receiving their meals we asked one of the waitstaff what was happening with our meal. I watched him go up, talk to the kitchen staff, pick up a couple of plates and serve another table. He went back to the serving area, spoke to another staff member who picked up the 2 plates I'd first noticed sitting there over 30 minutes before, and brought them over to our table. I commented on how long they'd been sitting there, so my parents checked and of course both meals were stone cold. The waitress returned them to the kitchen. She came back and said the chef had agreed to refund those 2 meals but he wasn't going to make them again and they couldn't re-order. She looked surprised when I asked if I could get a refund for my meal too as it hadn't yet arrived. We ended up being refunded for all 3 meals before leaving and having a wonderful meal and evening at a different club.
Yeah….ok - this place was busy so I was excited to see what the food would be like but everything was just mediocre. The only option for the schnitzel was chips and slaw - anything else has to be ordered as a side. When the sides turned up they were hit and miss the roast veggies was only potato and pumpkin and there was enough mash for 8 people. The schnitzel was just ok. We left with heaps of food still on the table. I would only recommend it as a last option.
The customer service is great. The staff greeted us with a smile and when were leaving, I forgot my bag and one of the crew returned my bag to me. I appreciate it. Thank you so much. nnHowever, the quality of my food taste like there is no wow factor to it. My $24 as far as I remember roast looks very sad. Going out somewhere for lunch is something that you look forward that you cannot make at home but my roast almost taste like it was dry and there is no wow factor to it. The 3 peices of meat were thin and dry.nnThe women’s toilet are very clean though and the same with the baby change table.nnThank you for the warm welcome and honesty about your menu were limited and for returning my bag when I forgot it on the table were we sitting. XxnnThank you
The bistro is good the menu is a typical pub menu but the food is ample.nnBar staff ignore visiting guests, and make small talk with locals leaving you waiting to be served. This was what made my review less, I was felt like I was a bother to serve.nAs a group who spent several hundred dollars on meals and drinks, next time my money may be spent at the Brothers Sports Club across the street!
