The most useless service ever. Made me wait 10 weeks just to decline my allowance just because I am doing a post-grad that's not approved by them. What was the point of you guys making me run back and forth chasing my study provider as well as you guys for an update, what was the point of "pre-approved" status? What was the point of you guys giving false information "you will be getting a big payback" Could have saved both parties time by just declining from week 1 when I mentioned I am doing post-grad. Did not provide me any update at all, I always had to follow up on my own. 1 lady also put me on hold and then hung up. That's me wasting more time calling back and waiting in the que. Honestly this is extremely unacceptable.
So fricken slow. Every 3 weeks they will ask for yet another "1 more" document that they haven't previously asked for. It has now been 2 months since i applied. Them asking for stupid little documents 1 at a time feels like they are just trying to drag everything out, before giving me my first payment! This organisation needs significant efficiency improvement and modern upgrades!
They hang up on you when you try to call and the website doesn’t work. Utterly useless.
Partner on hold for almost 2 hours yesterday. Finally got through to someone only for them to hang-up on him. He couldn't even call back because it was after their opening hours and the automatic message was now in place telling him to call back in the morning... ridiculous, I get that you have now 'finished work' but at least say that rather than hanging up.
I submitted all my details a month before my loan was supposed to start coming in and they still seem to think I haven't sent anything in - If you're job is to give students their loans on time maybe actually check the documents everyone is sent so they can attend their expensive courses. I have also gone into study link physically because the phone line never works and they completely blew off all my questions.
I tried calling four days in a row, and multiple times during the day. Every single time it hung up due to a "high volume of callers". Please, if you have been short staffed for at least the last 4 years, maybe it's time to hire more staff at least for the busy period. When I finally got through they're telling me I failed my classes the year before, after I sent screenshots with my name in them of my grades, which were clearly not fails. Then after I spoke to them about it they STILL proceeded to decline my loan a week into classes starting due to "failing my papers". I am now calling for the 5th day in a row on the first week of uni. Also absolutely terrible website to navigate.
Hey Studylink higher ups and all other stuff that work there. If you are seeing this review I just want to say you have a hard and annoying job at times I respect and appreciate, as a student, all the good you've done for me. I had trouble with my allowance today but one of your operators Paul really helped me out and really explain to me everything I needed to know. He was polite, informative and had great overall customer service skills. Promote the fella. Cheers for your help again.
Spent entire semester attempting to apply and getting told that they're waiting for last semester results to be processed then after the 6th or 7th person I spoke to they finally told me what was actually going on. You're rolling a dice on whether you get someone who knows what they're doing or not.
How is there always a high caller volume? Why is there no queue system, like at WINZ? How are students meant to contact neccesarry services if they can't even get passed the automated system? Students get a bad reputation as unreliable to landlords because of this serious delay in communication, thanks to studylink. Students rent depends on these payments and when they're only given a fraction of the amount and try to resolve the issue somehow, they can't even get in contact with the right people. Do the Higherups at Studylink expect Students to starve and go homeless before they start providing adequate communication and customer service? Seeing as Studylink has only 1.5 stars, you can tell this is a long standing issue. Do better.
Always takes AT LEAST and hr to 2 hrs to get a hold of them on call, even when I try to contact with email they respond half a week later. If you don't have enough staff to contact everyone, hire more staff. Or if there is way too many callers just add an option where you call them back and keep their spot in the caller line. Studylink has the worst customer service. For student allowance I suddenly got my income changed due to a change in tax code and suddenly started deducting money from my allowance for student loan repayment. WITHOUT EVEN ASKING. what kind of service is this? Not even asking how the customer feels about it before taking action in changes to the customer's account. Took an hr and a half to call studylink before they told me I had to call IRD instead which was less than 5 mins call time max with studylink. Remember that it took me an hr and a half to get this call. When calling IRD they said they could possibly change something and they can contact studylink themselves so I dont have to call them again, which I agreed to. Later on, I receive the same mail with no changes in my student allowance whatsoever. I feel as though studylink truly does not care about its customers using their services. Useless.
