Leon at StrugnellCole has been my go-to cutter and colourist since I first discovered the salon run by him and his wife, Anoushka sp?. I have naturally dark hair that, as I am part-Maori, is very difficult to lighten. I have always been very happy with the results Leon has obtained, and the prices are half that I previously paid at another salon in the area. I also love that Leon is excited when his clients want to do something unusual, and is always happy to talk through what is wanted beforehand and offer suggestions. The salon atmosphere is friendly and almost family-like, with regular clients quickly becoming genuine friends. Great music and great artwork on the walls, mostly by Leon himself.Services: Hair coloring
It was a great day, the day I discovered Nush and Leon and their amazing hair artistry a few years ago. I would never trust anyone else now with my hair. Not only are they wonderful people but they are both extremely talented, really listen to their clients, ensuring they understand their needs and personality, creating very special and individual styles with cuts that always sit right, colours that flow, contour and highlight or contrast in all the right places! Relax into their welcoming space as they create the magic for your hair love Leon’s chill out music! and float out at the end with a smile on your face
I have been getting my hair done at StrugnellCole for 2-3 years now. It's kinda like "Cheers - where everybody knows your name" TV show and song. So many Bay Street salons to choose from where there are like 15 people getting done at once, dirty, loud, crowded...so why go there when you can go here? You walk in to this salon and #1 for me, it's always clean!! It's always bright and Leon & Anushka always have fun stories to share or ideas to swap. If you want to have your hair managed by 2 artists with great eyes, insight, flair, ideas and the #1 concern is your hair health, then this IS the place for you. I had previously asked for something, at other salons, they did it and my hair and my looks have suffered. Then, with Anushka and Leon, I have been told NO a few times while being taught why this would damage my hair or colour. Something I value more and more each time I visit. Previously with other salons, my hair would break, go yellow, I get it lightened, be uneven and I had the dreaded "highlight line"....Anushka will not have that for you. If there is anything that slightly could affect your outcome of anything other than "OMG I LOVE THIS" she won't do it and will explain why. Your hair safety is her goal so buckle up! Bottom line, every time I leave the salon I get a "WOW" response from them, myself and my friends. My only reason to tell you NOT to come here, would be strictly selfish...I don't want to compete with you for my appointment times! : LOL Enjoy!!!
As a creative soul in the design industry, appearance is everything and minimal hair maintenance is high on my crazy daily agenda. So finding a new hair salon has always been a nightmare for me because 90% of hair stylists don't get me nor do they take the time to want to understand who I am, what I do and what I need, when it comes to hair. But these guys do! I feel ABSOLUTELY blessed that I have found these groovy cats in my neighbourhood. I've had two appointments now and Leon has amazed me with his haircuts and colour, which looks splendidly natural. On both occasions I have left the salon feeling like I have just visited two special friends. Plus I feel fabulous when people stop me in the street and ask, "Who does your hair?" StrugnellCOLE - AAA++ for service, attitude, price, integrity, ambience & very cool music. They know their stuff - Highly recommended!
Leon and Anushka are experts in their field. I was a client at their South Melbourne salon many years ago, and returned to their Port Melbourne salon because I could not find anyone better. Great customer service, genuine advice and a wonderful experience is what you will receive from this funky salon every time! Highly recommended!!!
I love how I can go into this salon and leave all the decisions up to the experts and trust that they would amaze me! Which they have done and continue to do every time I see them! They are so friendly and down to earth, their passion and love for their job shines through in their work. I strongly recommend this beautiful salon not only because of the amazing work Anuska and Leon produces and executes....but because of the wonderful customer service they provide to their customers.
Gave me honest advice about what color would suit my skin tone and what style suited my “look” and lifestyle which you never get from hairdressers. They were amazing and I have been incredibly delighted with my cut and color. They took time to show me different ways to style my hair too. Can’t recommend enough.
Hair looks always fabulous when I leave the salon. Anushka is so welcoming and very knowledgeable. Was looking forever for a salon that doesn't use harsh chemicals and finally found it! Highly recommended
