As part of UnitingCare Health, St Stephen’s Hospital is a non-for-profit private hospital owned by the Uniting Church and has been serving the Fraser Coast community since 1946. St Stephen's is the only not-for-profit private acute hospital facility in the Fraser Coast area.

As a registered charity and not-for-profit facility, we are committed to re-investing surplus funds for the development of the hospital, our services and employees. This benefits the community by creating a hospital utilising leading edge technology staffed by leaders in their field. My first ever major surgery at 70 y/o and I couldn't be more impressed. Communication in the lead up was excellent, checking in was seamless and very friendly, ALL staff from cleaners, catering staff, nurses and everyone involved were super efficient and friendly. Good selection of food that was always delivered hot and tasty. Thank you for providing such a quality hospital in Hervey Bay.
Amazing care. The rehab unit was absolutely professional, caring, kind, happy and understanding of a difficult autoimine, chronic illness. Dr du Touit showed empathy and professionalism in his care and advice. The nursing staff showed care and consideration in showering and toileting when I had a set back, making sure I was safe on standing up when my muscles were wakened. Many nurses were absolutely attentive, happy and very understanding. I have written compliment cards for outstanding professionalism for those staff. All others were kind and efficient. Night staff were diligent. Many hand overs were outstanding with introductions in side my room, making me feel comforting, important and knowing names . A great start to a shift. Others were hampered by the size of the computer snd stayed in the corridor. This impeded the friendliness of the hand over as introductins were called out from the corridor. The students were professionaly supervised and were allowed to experience many procedures. I was always happy to assist. A happy smiling staff made my stay, as I had few visitos due to distance. The rehab team headed by Christie Mason were amazing withnKnowledge, expertise and ability to think outside the square. Having an illness that does not show made their work and understanding a bit more difficult but they did the homework and came up with exercises that achieved my goals. The rehab staff were caring, welcoming, happy and safety aware. An amaziing team. I highly recommend this wonderful facility and the fabulous staff.
Have just been discharged after a full knee replacement surgery.nFrom the time I was admitted till I was discharged, the level of care I received was outstanding. I cannot fault the level of professionalism of any of the staff. They all contributed to ensuring my comfort, confidence and recovery was maintained to the highest standards.nThank you all.
Just had knee replacement by Dr Elix in St Stephens, couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience, the nursing staff were very caring and professional, the food was outstanding, thank you very much for a pleasant stay.
I had day surgery at St Stephens Hospital today and the staff, nurses and doctors were very informative, professional and would rate them perfect 10. They made my short stay as comfortable as possible and I couldn't be happier. All people involved in the hospital deserve my upmost respect and appreciation.
