St Patrick’s Cathedral is one of the most breathtaking places in Melbourne. Unlike St Paul’s in the middle of the CBD chaos, this cathedral feels much more secluded, peaceful, and removed from the city despite not being far away at all. The surrounding trees and quieter streets add to the calm atmosphere before you even walk inside.nnThe architecture is absolutely stunning. The towering Gothic design, huge arches, intricate detailing, stained glass windows, and enormous ceilings make it feel almost like a cathedral you’d expect to see somewhere in Europe rather than in Melbourne. There’s a very grand and awe-inspiring feeling the moment you step through the doors.nnEven if you’re not religious, it’s worth visiting simply to admire the craftsmanship, atmosphere, and sense of peace inside. A beautiful landmark and one of the most impressive buildings in the city.
A truely amazing place to visit. A sense of peace, history, and awe of the magnitude and Architecture. Sitting inside you can't help but reflect on those who sat in the very same spot hundreds of years ago; or how it was built before all the modern machinery we have today. Such a glorious place to visit, even if you do not practise the Christian faith. Highly recommend. The cathedral is surrounded by beautiful gardens, and water. Perfect for photos . Parking with time limits are around the cathedral, or we found Wilson parking in the side street.
This is such a wonderful building in Melbourne! Ancient and Gothic looking from the outside and then you go inside and it is an area of peace and sanctity.nnThere is so much history and some beautiful sculptures in and around the Cathedral. The stain glass windows and serenity makes this Cathedral particularly reflective.nnThank you to all the staff who ensure the building/gardens are so well kept and maintained. For anybody who is in Melbourne, it is one of the gems.

The power and wealth of any religion can be assessed by the grandeur of its religious praying venues, whether a Church, Mosque or Temple. The grandeur of St Patrick's Cathedral awestruck me with pleasent amazement. The architecture was unbelievably splendor and majestic. A must visit for every tourist and residents of Melbourne. If compared with St Paul's Cathedral it's more large and magnificent. Don't miss it whether you belong to any religion.
