This is one of the best cemeteries you can visit to remember or be interested in. Beautiful, scenic surroundings by nature. The Springvale Botanical Cemetery is categorised inform with a number of churches, a café, information center and function rooms.
It's a beautiful place ..but not ALL areas look as great as in photos! Seems they spend more money and time on certain parts making it beautiful!! ALSO THE WORSE THING IS NO CLOSE TOILET they taken the toilet out ..so u have to go all the way to information centre or Cafe..to bad if you REALLY NEED TO GO!! OR A OLDER PERSON !! This has been brought up ..BUT THEY DONT CARE !! Springvale cemetery
If you've been there you don't need a reason for the one star, you already have one. If you haven't placed a loved one there, now you know not to. "Weekly" cleanings but I come every few months to dead flowers and plants overgrowing my family
It Spread more than 400 acres and very ideal for your loved ones. Cafe, flower shop are there. Lots of facilities and options are there as per your requirement. And it's ideal place for visit for a break. Very calm, well maintained, friendly staff and lovely environment. Highly recommend
Fantastic lay out. Has water falls to greet you at the entrance. Has a large rose gardens to walk though to clear the mond. The trees are well looked after, the lawns are maintaned and well adged. Has a good amount of parking and a publoc toilet ln site.
Really lovely area and beautiful scenery, only downsides are that the cemetery is not very pedestrian friendly and navigation is tricky on top of that the bathrooms are not very well kept which is disappointing concerning the landscape, however it is still a beautiful place to put your loved ones to rest.
Springvale Botanical Cemetery needs to urgently review the processes and wait times for incoming phone calls. There is no filtering of calls and on multiple occasions I have waited excessive times for someone to speak to. On one occasion I left a message after 3 minutes waiting and then did not receive a call back by the end of the day. Not being able to contact the cemetery in a timely manner was one of the most stressful parts of my mother’s recent bereavement Having to wait three weeks minimum to be able to book an appointment to pick up your loved one’s ashes is also unacceptable. That said, the staff at Springvale Cemetery are excellent and do their best to assist.
I rang to get some basic information and make an appointment to visit and speaknto someone. The lady on the phone was so nice, very pleasant and helpful. But it took almost 30 minutes of being on hold before she answered. Had I been a grieving relative of a recently deceased person that wait would have been agonisingly long.
For the last 20Yrs this part of the cemetery has gone Down Hill. It's Infested with Mosquitoes , Due to the poor Up Keep of ponds. Even the Ducks won't swim in them. And as for the pathways. Shocking ! No Access for a Wheelchair or Walking Frame. Very Disappointed,
The Cemetery overall is a peaceful & tranquil environment to pay my respects to my loved ones. In particular, the VICPOL Memorial is a very special place that I hold close to my heart. It is always in immaculate condition. I appreciate knowing that I can bring my 2 x BEST friend's, Ruby & lil Lady w me. Parking is easy & the "new" Cafe is lovely. It's a great place to catch up w family/friends after visiting our loved ones final resting places. It doesn't feel like we are at a Cemetery which makes me feel a lil less sad & anxious.
