I decided to make lined curtains with matching box pelmets for my loungeroom over Xmas. I havnt done this before. The ladies at the upholstery counter were so helpful and thanks to some tips I think they turned out great
Several months ago we purchased $450 worth of curtains from Ashmore. We wish to now purchase more but do not know the brand, no tags. Went in store with VIP details to look up a previous purchase but were told they cannot see past 30 days, and to contact head office. 4 emails later we have been completely fobbed off by a company that doesn't seem to want our money. We have provided our VIP number, the date of purchase and the exact amount spent in the hope they can tell us what the brand was. Head office told us to return to the store. Simply awful service. This email directly from Spotlight to get rid of us: Thank you for your response. Spotlight would like to apologise for your recent experience as it is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide. The feedback you have supplied is invaluable as it will help us to improve the overall experience we provide to all Spotlight customers. Thanks, Spotlight Customer Care Team.
Great, so much variety to choose from. There was a problem though, I noticed as I was lined up to pay and it was a very big line but the only way non purchasing customers can get out of the store is through the same line as paying customers so I experienced alot of people bumping into lined up customers which is not a good look and it's not nice for the people lined up to be trod on or have a pram pushed into your back as the non paying customers make their way through the exit. Something really needs to be done for a second exit.
The stand out of this store isn't the building or the selection of fabric, it's the staff. The ladies working dress fabrics are knowledgeable and kind. Note that the store is currently in disarray thanks to an overhaul of the cutting desks October 2022. Do us all a favour and replace that tatty, stained carpet while all the shelves are gone - please!
Spotlight has their finger on the pulse for festivities! In my opinion their BEST STOCK relates to KNITTERS, QUILTERS & SEWERS. BEST TIME TO SHOP is when they have SALES!! Staff are friendly which is great however they ALWAYS SEEM SHORT ON STAFF, that creates long waits @ checkouts unfortunately!
Standard range of products. Craft items aren't well priced. Fabric prices are good when on sale. Homewares are limited and generally aren't great quality compared to Kmart, Target and Ikea. The roof leaks so there are buckets, towels, etc on the floors and plastic over some of the stock every time it rains. The water still gets on some of the stock. Some of the staff are great and some are less customer focused.
At the cashier's we queried price of item as it was not the price on the shelf. This extremely aggressive supervisor stepped in & blamed us for looking at the wrong price ticket. We would certainly have noticed a $150 price difference. She was really unpleasant & made the experience awful. No customer service at all, horrid person that shouldn't be kept on the payroll.
What a sad disappointment today and being a Spotlight member for over 25 years. Had to hunt down floor staff & it is only 15 minutes after store opening. When I did find someone. . Just wanted to keep unpacking and not serve. Then at the main fabric counter. Had a RUDE old bid granny Spotlight employee who turned her back to me outside the customer counter having a gossip. Told off an elderly customer and said she was wrong in what she was looking for. Not even trying to help. I stood their waiting, over 5 minutes with no customer queue & this old bid Spotlight employee's bad attitude. Then she still ignored and another girl had to serve me after her customer and measure. Obviously the needle of mrna has killed any nicety at Spotlight Ashmore. Forget going.
The people at the fabric cutting counter always move in slow motion and are seemingly unaware of their surroundings. It’s incredibly frustrating waiting in line, watching the staff move like they’re on 2 HP and engage in unnecessarily long chitchat while there are five people behind me, also being inconvenienced. I’ve been coming to this store for years on a regular basis and it happens every single time I need fabric cut.
Went in to get rest of the balloons for hubbies bday. They had nothing much left. Was told ot was packed yesterday but found hard to believe that sold through since the day before. Rest of the shop looked packed and beautiful with all the christmas decorations.
