Southward Car Museum is one of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most impressive private vehicle collections, located on the Kāpiti Coast of New Zealand’s North Island. nIt is an easy 45–60 minute drive north of Wellington via State Highway 1 / the Kāpiti Expressway. Take the Raumati exit and follow signs onto the old State Highway 1 / Main Road; the entrance is clearly marked. Ample free parking is available including for campervans.
Great museum for car enthusiasts. We were there in July. So it was too cold in door to really take time and enjoy everything. But great collection.
Great place if you like cars! There are some amazing vehicles and I love the one that has been left unrestored. There over 350 cars of all ages plus other memorabilia. Not sure it appeals to all ages but for anyone who's driven for a lifetime it's amazing. It's worth a detour anytime but it's a great place to go on the way to the Cook Strait ferry.
A perfect place for car lovers. Great collection of vintage cars. Also one full floor for motorcycles too. Spend time to understand the significance of your loved brand. Brands available are GM, Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Masseratti, Rolls Royce, VW, BMW, Mercedes, Range Rover etc etc
Amazing collection of cars, bikes and a really interesting short video on the founders history. Good old kiwi ingenuity. Easy way to spend 2-3 hours enjoying some great machines.
