Our waiter was hilarious, and the cocktails were delicious. The lamb rump was new on the menu and it was perfectly cooked and with amazing gravy and pumpkin. We ate in the dining hall which was a soothing environment but from what I saw the pub had a thrilling atmosphere. Truly a jack of all trades pub.
We dropped into Sonder Bar for their steak night, and it absolutely blew us away. From start to finish, the entire experience was top-tier local hospitality at its finest.nnThe steak was cooked to absolute perfection—juicy, full of flavor, and accompanied by fantastic sides that proved they really care about the quality of food coming out of the kitchen. Finding a steak night that balances high quality with such an affordable price point is a rare win, but Sonder hits the nail on the head.nnTo top it off, the beer selection was fantastic, and every pint was served ice-cold—exactly what you want on a night out. The atmosphere had a great, welcoming vibe, and the staff were warm, attentive, and efficient throughout the evening.nIf you're looking for an incredible midweek meal, great value, and cold drinks in a fantastic setting, do yourself a favor and check out Sonder Bar. We’ll definitely be making this a regular habit!
This is a cute little local spot although we did get off on the wrong foot the first time I came in to have a steak and ended up leaving after finishing my glass of wine.nHowever....I thought I would give the benefit of the doubt and went with a friend one night. We decided to sit out on the courtyard that looked really cosy and after cleaning off the couch seat from a pile of dryeaves praying there would not be a spider or worse a cockroach jumping out we took a seat wondering if it were to rain, would we get wet??nThe bar on the courtyard was closed for some reason so we had to wLk up to the front bar to order, I wish I would have known before as my body was very sore and I didn't have my walking aid with me.nThey brought the drinks down to us but they had run out of the Carlton draught that my friend wanted so he had to go and get something else.nWe wanted something to eat and didn't realise they closed early 9pm, so it got a bit rushed ordering and eating before it was time to go and we had to move inside due to the courtyard closing. We had only been there for maybe one hour and last drinks were being served.nAll in all, it was a nice but somewhat rushed experience and I feel the communication between staff and patrons could be improvednthe service however was much better than the first time.nnI can only give you 3at this stage, happy to improve the rating if things change.

It’s definitely a place you’d want to return to.nnOverall, Sonder Bar delivers a solid experience with good drinks, great service, and a pleasant atmosphere
I haven't visited Bentleigh for years and it would be fair to say the old State Bank has had a number of iterations, but this one takes the cake. What a great venue. Craft beers, standard lines and cocktails to order. The beer garden is massive and just a great spot. Chuck in the bistro and you have a perfect venue with character. Staff were lovely and happy to serve.
