Story

Located in Masterton, Wairarapa, Solway College is one of New Zealand's most historic girls' boarding schools. Established in 1916 and, in the 1970s, one of the first girls' colleges to become integrated in New Zealand, we consistently provide a holistic education for young women in Years 7 to 13 (Forms 1 to 7). We offer a limited number of day girl places and a variety of boarding options.

Masterton is a short trip by car or train (approx 90 minutes) from Wellington, New Zealand's capital city. There is also a daily direct flight to and from Auckland.

If you consider sending your daughter to Solway College I insist you do. She will grow up with the most amazing girls who will become her family. I personally love being here with such a supportive group of girls with me. The staff will go out of their way to make sure your child's time at Solway is the best it could possibly be. At Solway there is limitless opportunities in all areas of learning. They offer an amazingly wide range of sports and cultural activities open to all girls. As for the boarding situation, the matrons and gap students ensure a safe and enjoyable living environment for all girls. We have great routine that helps girls stay on task and focused on school. It's great to have a second family with you not only in school hours but after school too. Solway College shall provide an amazing academic experience for all girls. After reading this I hope you consider sending your girls to Solway.
This place was the worst school I have ever been too. I was bullied nonstop other students started leaving trash on my bed and sending me threatening messages. The school did pretty much nothing to stop this. then when I left the staff started handing out my personal contact details to students this was Insteed of staff contacting me directly. They even gave my number to the student who was leading the bulling note, the staff made no attempt to contact me until days later. After all this I sent in a formal complaint to the principals email via my school address. I was promptly blocked out of my email account and never received a response. I went to this school for a small supportive school and frankly I got more support at the school of 2000 students, I was previously at. If you are considering sending your daughter here run. Run away now before you get $16000 in debt.
This school offers soo much great support have been at this school for 3 years and have made soo many friends. Soo many great opportunities that are offered on top of the great schooling and education ehich is provided. I believe i have made life long frirnds at this school if you want your child to be happy and make lots of friends send her to solway
Truckies note, college entrance is off Fleet Street and we exit via Hillcrest Str, sometimes google maps directs you to the college exit drive - beware!
The school is bad, the students look like they just escaped from prison, and there are two ungrateful Thai people here, and they're just crazy dogs trying to teach people how to behave.
