I had high expectations for Smith café, new to Napier and enjoying finding new places, the coffee was fabulous, food ok, some amazing - OMG toast is yum. What I was surprised at, and I don't mind paying good money for good food - but the pancakes were $30 for 3 piklet size, soggy with bacon and had to pay extra for maple syrup!! All staff bar 1 were lovely; however one waitress was rude, spoke harshly to one of our group who got mixed up with his order he has dementia - I was so shocked. When I went to explain after, she presented as sarcastic and arrogant, the manager stood by and did nothing. Shame.
Loved this place for breakfast. Very good service and very good tasting meals. Nice vibe.
We were in Napier for the weekend and this place was recommended to us by our AirBnB hosts. There was a short queue for a table but we waited less than 5 minutes. We were shown to a table and given menus. It was quite busy and you could tell the staff were a bit under the pump but they were still friendly and welcoming. The food was tasty and the coffee was pretty good too. If I was in town I would come again.
Great wee food establishment. Friendly staff, good communication from the start regarding waiting times as they were short staffed. Waiting time was very reasonable considering. Beautiful food and very reasonable pricing. Obviously a popular place for dining, and easy to see why. Highly recommend to all. Have posted a couple of snaps, sorry if the names of the dishes are not correct.
Really good cafe with great and not your typical breakfast options. I had the hangover fried rice which was a bit like a bibimbap.. so tasty, fresh and filling! Coffee is great and service is lovely. You can’t go wrong!
Very nice lunch. 3 of us had fish n chips and 1 had eggs bene. All were great and so was the coffee and the service. Very nice friendly staff as well.

Cafe was off the industry area, close to the city. Food was not bad but choices are limited. Nice outdoor area
High hopes for this busy little cafe but disappointed. Coffee burnt and not what I ordered, even when questioned was left with the wrong coffee and no replacement of correct coffee provided. Potato cakes on the Benedict very over done in the fryer and basically dehydrated.
Tasty food and textured decor. In and outdoor seating. We had soup and it was tasty but portion small and noodles not cooked enough. When asked how was the food I mentioned this but nothing was said and waitress seemed annoyed.
