Smith & Deli is an extension of the Smith & Daughters brand. A business by head chef, Shannon Martinez + business gal, Mo Wyse, with the commitment to expanding and perfecting the dynamic food culture of plant-based cuisine; now in a take-away, more convenient format for the fast-paced lifestyle.

Eschewing dine-in seating, Smith & Deli focuses on take away food, provisions, fresh produce and home-cooked meals in a deli format. Housed in an historic brick factory, a stoneʼs throw away from Smith & Daughters, the deli has been designed to focus on the needs of the neighbourhood.

The Deli provides customers with everything they need for the creation of a meal with as little or as much effort as they want or have time for. To that end, there are provisions to make your own meal, pre-prepared components of meals, as well as fully prepared, ready to eat meals.

Finally got to come here after hearing so much about the food at Smith + Deli. And the food didn't disappoint. We only had lunch but the next table was sharing a giant sized donut that looked moist. Definitely will need to return for their pastries. They also have vegan groceries, including my favourite vegan chocolate bars.
I really wanted to give this a higher rating as I have heard about this place for such a long time. The selection of vegan food is absolutely amazing - from cheese, deli food type to brunch items and dessert. Service was also super quick and we got our dishes almost right away. However, I ended up with the katsu sandwich which is not my favourite I initially wanted to try the Home Alone but it was sold out. I didn’t realise it was served cold and the white bread didn’t taste as fresh as I would like it to be. My bf ordered the breakfast burrito and it was so much better though. I believe I just didn’t have enough luck but will give this another try next time :
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Smith & Deli in Collingwood, and let me tell you, it exceeded all expectations! The menu offers an array of options, from hearty breakfast toasties to decadent loaded sandwiches, all bursting with flavour and creativity. The 'Egg Martinez' was a personal favourite, with it being a creative knock-off of a Maccas Egg & Bacon McMuffin. The affordability of the menu toasties range from $10-18 combined with the innovative flavour combinations makes it a must-visit for anyone craving delicious vegan food. On top of all of this, their vegan bakery items are definitely one of the best available in Melbourne - with their bakery items often rotating. think donuts, cookies, slices, croissants and more!. I honestly can't imagine anyone being unhappy with the food offering. Just be mindful to get there early, as we went on a Sunday morning around 10am and we were lucky to get a seat!
So much to choose from - no wonder this place is so high rated: friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I got the almond croissant which are a very hard find and this was was divine. I could have eaten every one on display. Some great looking salads and fake meats on display in the Deli section which was cool. I also got a takeaway sando which used tempeh and fake bacon, loved the packaging too
Vegans this is a must visit! So many options, I’ve tried 2 toasties so far and both were so flavourful. Definitely recommend you try a sweet pastry as well The sandwiches are huge servings & a whole meal in themselves, definitely worth the $. The vibes of this place are really nice, I enjoyed eating & people watching here. I’s a trendy lil spot & the staff are all very friendly & professional. Wish they had one in Brisbane! Dietary restrictions: Heaps of NF options, even the pesto was NF !!!
It was incredibly hot today and they had a nice selection of indoor seating in air con. The building is wheelchair accessible. There is also outdoor seating under a cover. We Ordered the kale Caesar, Rubinstein, free Willy, and an iced oat chai. The vegan Reuben was incredible. Hot, delicious, 10/10 would eat again. The kale Caesar tasted like they used violife dressing, which I really disliked, but the kale was crunchy and fresh. The oat chai tasted strongly and singularly of star anise. I would not order again. The free Willy was not my favorite, but can see how it is a solid vegan tuna; it was just a little too tuna for me! I am not vegan, and the big breakfast fooled me… delicious and so many options for sides. One plate to share was enough for both of us! Was impressed!Food: 5/5
Extensive menu of hot and cold food. The food was delicious and my husband who isn't vegan enjoyed his meal too! Enjoyed a cold wine too. Highly recommend this amazing vegan cafeFood: 5/5
Love this place.. it’s excellent for a weekend brunch with friends.. The coffee is great and the pastries are yo die for.. all in all , you get the bang for the buck Food: 5/5
Amazing food, service and a beautiful store! Had one of the best breakfast rolls ever. Their vegemite scroll was so soft and delicious, and they have really great coffee. Returned later to have a meatball toasted sandwich, and it was insanely good! We can't wait to come back.Food: 5/5
