Story

The Skins & Things story for Ozzie and Glenys started as one of love. Ozzie, was designing and making leather jackets in is home country of Turkey when he met Glenys.

After meeting his beautiful wife, they made Australia their home and opened a leather-clothing store in Toorak Village arcade in Burnside.

Skins and Things have had many people behind it over the years and it all started for Ozzie when he joined the Skins and Things team in Melbourne Street in 1980.

When he joined Skins and Things in 1980, he began designing and manufacturing leather fashion for Australia.

With a local team of machinists making each piece right here in SA, Ozzie’s designs were sold nationally and earned himself a place in the top 20 designers in Australia in 1985.

After years of manufacturing locally, the team of machinists retired. Ozzie’s passion for quality crafted leather goods saw him return to his home of Turkey, where to this day his exclusive designs are manufactured.

On any day of the week, you will find Ozzie in-store sharing his knowledge, and with over 40-years experience his knowledge is like no other!

Using a variety of materials, our designs feature Toscana fur, suedes, perforated and quilted leather or baby lambs wool that are carefully selected to create high quality unique leather garments you will have for life.

Our personalised service ensures you leave the store with the perfect fit. Using his craftsmanship skills that have been refined over the years, Ozzie will alter the sleeves, the waist or the length depending on what is needed to ensure you end up with a leather garment that is just for you!
