Jess just done my eye trough dermal fillers and after 40 years with black circles around my eyes I finally look like ive had a decent night sleep. Very happy. And Jess is a top notch professional. Explained every step of the way. Reassuring throughout and the results speak for themselves.
I got the Microdermabrasion done for my face a few times here and it’s so far the best microdermabrasion service I’ve had compared to other places! I book in with Jess from Skin Institute Wellington for my sessions and she is a very informative person + she does such an amazing job. I feel the difference every time I get it done and she has been helpful in recommending specific products which are suitable for my skin condition. She is also super friendly & nice which makes the whole experience a very relaxing and comfortable one!
Dr Dazell is not only rude but a poor doctor. I saw her about a rash on my torso that wouldn't go away with over the counter treatments. She dismissed it as eczema. After it still didn't go away I returned to my GP who sent me to another skin doctor who actually did a scraping why didn't she do this? and found out it was not eczema but something else completely.A waste of my time and money.
I have now had 2 laser treatments with Irene at the Wellington clinic and have been impressed not just with the results but with Irene’s care, professionalism and warmth. She’s an exceptionally skilled therapist and her recommendations for treatment have really given me wonderful results. But more than that, she takes the time to really understand you and your hopes for your skin as well as provide skilled advice and manage expectations. She has a wonderful approach to treatment, making you feel comfortable and confident in her ability and completely at ease. She gently explains what is happening at each step, regularly checking in and always eager to know if you have any questions or concerns. It’s refreshing! And her personality is just the icing on the cake – she’s a delight to spend time with and you I walk away feeling better about my skin as well as feeling I’ve spent time with someone that cares about my wellbeing. There is nothing ‘transnational’ about my appointments. She’s warm and professional and I have absolute trust in her. Well done SI- Wellington and Irene!
I received three IPL spot treatments on my nose to treat a small spider vein. The first two treatments were fine - the therapist used a low intensity laser treatment. Unfortunately, the spot returned, so I initially canceled the third appointment. However, I saw a therapist named Smitee for dermal needling, who talked me into receiving the third IPL treatment. She told me that she could use a higher intensity, which was more likely to get the spot to permanently go away. Very unfortunately and infuriatingly, Smitee gave me two second-degree burns on my nose that are not even on the spider vein that she was attempting to treat. Two hours after the treatment the blisters shed off my nose and began weeping. I contacted Skin Institute the following day, and the nurse treated me, but in my following consultation with Smitee she did not acknowledge her wrongdoing. She admitted to not reviewing my notes and was not aware that I was on doxycycline, which makes me skin very sensitive. The conversation left me feeling like no one cared that Skin Institute permanently scarred my face, and that they do not have client/patient safety in mind. It is almost four weeks post treatment now and I have serious hyperpigmentarion on my nose where Smitee burned me two spots that are approximately one centimetre long. I have received no post-care advice despite asking for it, and Skin Institute has not indicated that they are going to ensure that my skin will return to normal. I now have a permanent scar on my face from their mistreatment. Do not go to Skin Institute for your treatments. Trusting that they were going to give me quality care was the worst mistake of my life - one that I will wear a scar for the rest of my life on the middle of my face.
I have been treated by Smitee at the Skin Institute in Wellington for the last three years and I cannot rate her service and experience highly enough. From the minute you arrive you are warmly welcomed and put at ease. She is a highly skilled nurse who always provides exceptional pre and post treatment advice, she is thorough throughout the consultation process and she cares about addressing your concerns. I have always been more than satisfied with the results of my treatments and her professionalism and care for her patients is second to none. I would recommend Smitee to anyone looking for a highly skilled, caring practitioner who is passionate about the beauty industry and who always puts her client’s needs first. Thank you Smitee, it is always a pleasure to have an appointment with you.
Over the past year I have been a client of Dr Shona Dalzell at the Skin Institute and had a very positive experience and outcome. I have had varicose veins in my legs for many years ,with accompanying discomfort and swelling, particularly around my ankles. On my first visit to the Skin Institute, ultra sound mapping was carried out on my legs, to identify the deep veins and incompetent valves that required treatment with sclerotherapy. Over the course of the following year I had a number of sessions, each one requiring a week or so of wearing elastic stockings afterwards. I’m thrilled with the results. The swelling in my legs has gone, I now have ‘ankles’ again and am wearing skirts and dresses for the first time in years. Dr Shona and her assistant, Di,who does the ultrasound, were highly skilled and professional and I would recommend their service, without hesitation. Mandy Prattley Nelson
I approached Skin Institute in hope to understand more about my facial redness as it is not like any other skin condition. I advised the specialist that what I am currently doing is working for me and showed him my progress photos. In return, he decided to focus on something that wasn't a problem for me before...my scars...and he just prescribed heavy drugs to prevent further acne. I was shocked he prescribed something so heavy without even doing any testing . He said only acne could cause such scars which in fact it did not...it was a general skin damage from the things he didn't even bother to ask about. I was super disappointed with the lack of analysis and examination that I was hoping for...and I was super disappointed with how he made me feel about my scars when it wasn't even a problem to me. I was very shocked by lack of questions no questions whatsoever to understand my skin condition. I am not a Dermatologist but I have a much better understanding of what my skin condition is and the actual redness I am concerned about is not acne as it goes away with running and doing other things...but hey...he didn't even bother asking?. This specialist should really question the value he offers and what 'specialist' really means. I could have gone to a GP to get same drug prescription and pay $60 instead of $320! I went to Skin Institute for a particular goal get more information and instead of that, the guy chose to focus on something else that seemed to be the biggest problem to him and made me feel pretty awful for the rest of the day. Super disappointed by lack of examination and analysis and being treated with a 'blanket' approach - the drug may heal everything and anything with 100 different side effects/it doesn't matter what the root cause is or what the condition really is but hey lets give it a go.... Pretty dangerous.
I attend the Skin Institute in Wellington - I have had some vein surgery and moles removed. I have regular skin checks. It's a lovely setting, I always find the staff helpful and friendly and completely professional. I feel cared for.
I’ve been a client of Smitee Ranchhod for over a year now and love love love the service given each time. Sets a very relaxed tone and environment and talks you through process with each step as well as reassuring notes on progress of the skin and how to better look after the skin. Vitamin C’s!!
