I’m so sad that Sitar has really let their business slip lately. A week ago I ordered paneer tikka masala and I found metal wire in the curry - like from a scourer. I called them multiple times to get a refund and no one ever apologised or called back to rectify the issue. I have been a regular customer and loved Sitar for years but the last few months the customer service has been really bad with long wait times and now this… I understand that on Wednesday’s when they have the cheap curry deal that the wait would be longer than usual but it’s getting really bad and when you arrive to the store, no one comes to greet you for at least 5-10 minutes. Could it be that they are severely understaffed? I don’t know… but they desperately need to fix something because it used to be so good! And I still haven’t had my refund!
Had an Amazing Lamb Jalfrezi, Keema Nan and rice. Will definitely be back.
Looking for a place to eat between Christmas and NYE, we weren’t sure we felt like Indian, but Sitar was one of the few places open. We were sooooo glad we made the decision. The food was exceptional and there was lovely prompt service too. We choose the Deluxe banquet option and everything we tasted was perfectly balanced, tender and packed with flavour. We’ll be back!
Been coming here for 3 years. Love all the food and the staff, and I am a head chef who is addicted to indian food so i know what I'm talking about. Highly recommended. Don't use apps, call them directly.Food: 5/5
Food was great the only problem was the 1 1/2 hour wait on a quiet night in the restaurant for the food to arrive. It was only when we asked did we finally get our meal. It seems all their focus was on take away. It’s a shame as it used to be a great restaurant to dine in at.
Food is usually decent enough but they’re customer service is absolutely appalling. Waited 25 minutes after being seated and they still didn’t come and take our order and there was no one in sight. 2 other tables were also waiting longer than us too. Ended up walking out. It wasn’t even busy, it was a Tuesday night and only 5 tables seated in the restaurant.
The first poor review I've ever given. I tend not to review at all if not positive. But in this case. Ordered two Naans that were replaced with RICE. Rice is not a naan replacement. Naan is part of the experience of havinf a nice curry. The bhounas covered a lack of overall flavour with additional chilli. As a meal, even ignoring the poor replacement, had there been no chilli it would have been virtually tasteless. One of the worst meals I've had in a very long time.
Worst Indian food I have ever had in Australia. Drinks listed in Menu were out of stock - mineral water was even not available. Food was not freshly cooked. Frozen food was heated and served. Shanti Kebab were served half burnt. Chicken Tikka was the frozen food heated and served. Garlic Naan were not fresh. Again frozen naan we’re heated and served. Worst part was not acknowledging that food and service was not up to standard. Please save yourself by not going to this restaurant.
This restaurant is the best Indian food in brisbane. Every dish is classic and authentic. North side folk, don’t hesitate. It’s great food!
I ordered last night on the website. When I got there it was closed, and I wan't the only one peering in the dark window wondering were my food was. The web site said they were open. Now I have to call my credit card and reverse the charges.
