Plenty of study spaces throughout the many levels. Beautiful interior designs and facilities to use during your study session.nOnly library open early on the weekend, with parking close by.nnFantastic place to study on the weekend as it is almost empty!
Students has been chatting in quiet study space which is absolutely distructing!! Particuraly when VCE exam become soon many high school students has came here, ended up chatting/eating snacks with their boy or girl friend, apperantly not studying... The scariest thing is that even some adults are chatting with their loved ones... I'm curious what those people are studying about lol. I just want to study quietly at this area... I know monash is inclusive, but this place is only for people who truly want to learn something for their future >: Those who want to chat must go down to the cafe, so no one will become mad at you!
Public Computers are awfully slow so I don’t recommend them for when you’re in a rush.nnTop levels wonderfully quiet for silent study. Walking through the shelves looking for certain books feels a bit maze-like, lovely to be lost in a forest of book really, especially with the old books scent.
I have come here every week for three years now and generally, I love it. However, I have found that this year, Monash libraries have been particulary a horrible experience for me, and particulary Mathesons and it's the only one I can use now that the others close earlier. Studying at home isnt an option for me as I live with brothers who are diagnosed with autism and can be rowdy for most hours of the day, so I come here for quietness as well as technology, but these are barely options nowadays. I don't have access to a laptop so I use the PCs here but students with laptops sit in front of them and im too anxious to say anything. Students hang out, sometimes in large groups, like its a hangout spot and I can't focus and get quite upset because I am incredibly noise sensitive this happens even in the quiet areas. When I have asked other students if they could be quieter, I have been laughed at. Anytime I have ever tried to hint at the library staff for help with both of these, they have acted passive aggressively towards me. As much as I don't have a choice but to study here, it's incredibly disadvantaging to students like myself with mental health issues/disabilities. You'd think Monash would do better but?
Really good library with multiple levels to suit your liking. Has beautiful architecture and the quite study areas are normally very quiet and makes a good environment for studying. The computers there are great and sometimes helps me ease off the weight of carrying my heavy laptop. Has a good cafe with amazing coffee but the only downside is that it closes somewhere around 3.30pm.
