Really nice pastries and cakes, laid out very nicely. Alot of other reviewers have made comments about the customer service; i thought it was pretty good. Food on the menu is quite expensive; they have some items on show which are alot more cheaper and are equally as nice... just missing price tags on them. Sausage roll gets a special mention... best i have ever had! Pastry was so flakey and yum; the contents were moist, tender and so flavoursome. They seem to have an issue with flies...

One of the best bakeries in Canberra, and they know it and charge accordingly. By all means, head to Silo when only the best will do - delicious and beautifully made tarts and pastries, flavoursome and wholesome sourdough breads, and flaky and decadently rich pastries.

Takeaway borek + croissant + coffee = $20!!! That's why you can't see prices on any items on display. I think some of the staff might have smiled once upon a time...but I don't think it was recently. This is peak Canberran wankery. The sourdough is nice.

Those who are familiar with the Seinfeld episode "The Soup Nazi" will know what I mean when I say there are very great similarities to be found at Silo. Certainly their bread and pastries are superb, but what is the point in going to a place where you are served by arrogant, unfriendly, unhelpful staff - including one of the owners? Time and time again I have been treated with contempt and off-handedness and everyone I speak to about it has had similar experiences, and yet they keep going back. I've had it and will now reluctantly forego Silo's excellent product because of their truly awful, unfriendly, arrogant staff.
