Very disappointing. Pork was grey, ramen tasted like fish, gyoza was frozen and chicken tasted like it had been sitting there all day. Don’t chance your luck, stay away.
Everything was ok, could not find something that stood out. The sashimi was fresh, but portions could possibly be bigger. Pork curry don felt like missing some depth of flavour. Eel dragon roll was good too. I'd come back to try other dishes to see if there are other surprises. But overall not a bad dining experience.
Great and reasonable price foods with fresh seafoods. Dinner foods seems to be better than lunch but can't really complain with anything. Parking is not really a problem, you just have to know the parking info.
Very delicious, fresh and tasty food! Everything was nice and the service too. The restaurant inside is beautifully decorated and even the menu is so well designed with photos for everythingon the menu. Definitely will be coming back!
All the foods were properly done. Very flavoursome. Price is very reasonable actually lower than I expected. Good service. Will come back again!
I live locally and I must say this place is one of my favourites! Amazing food, great selections, fresh ingredients, good service and BYO. The salmon volcano, tempura and chicken katsu roll are definite favourites. Portions are great too, they’re not overly big but very decent. You would leave the place feeling satisfied. Not to mention the great affordable pricing too.
Moderately priced for Japanese. The letdown was that they brought the entered and mains out at the same time, so the mains weren't hot by the time we ate them. It is easy to find street parking on Liverpool road even on weekend nights. The Gyoza had a nice outer coating and was the highlight. Good Eel dish. Volcano rolls were really nice

Probably some of the most authentic japanese I have had. Having been to japan, Shinsen is very much on par with the cuisine in Japan ! A great local place in Ashfield. Service is good and the food was incredible !
This restaurant has a great variety of dishes at excellent prices. For me, the standout is the garden salad and salmon wasabi tacos. I have been to this restaurant several times and the service has always been outstanding. Highly recommended!
