Below average and taste was not to my liking. Definitely can improve with the taste and service. The shop was not busy but few menu items were not available, sold out at 6 pm Definitely considered not to return.
Shanghai Dragon Dumpling Staff are lovely, friendly, helpful Food is delicious, flavoursome,’and addictive. Make sure you try their drunken noodles, my favourite. Prices are reasonable especially for the quantity of food you are getting There is a large selection of good, something to suit all dietary requirements. I love to get several dishes and do share plates, it allows you to try everything.
Very solid dumpling experience. Super juicy and quite tasty. Quick service and the food usually comes out quite quickly. It's definitely a Chinese style of food with no fusion elements. Not a massive selection of alcoholic beverages. Would come back when I'm in town.
Dumplings were good but the mains were very bad. You can do better for the money in the Chapel St area. Greasy, cheap chicken and vegetables that tasted like they had been frozen and microwaved and overly saucy dishes with little flavour. Avoid the Kung Pao chicken and the fried rice
On chapel street there are quite a few options for dumpling places. There is Shanghai street towards Windsor and you have his place Shanghai Dragon. The soups and noodles at Shanghai street are great value at lunch time $11.80 for a bowl full of warming goodness. High quality ingredients and nice and prompt service. Recommend this.

Waitresses literally running inside the restaurant. Got my food after 40 mins waiting. Food didn't taste fresh. Sorry you should improve.
I am a regular to this place. Can not usually fault. Tonight was a different story. One of our friends has a peanut allergy. We specifically told them this when we ordered. Obviously the food contained peanuts as our friend needed to be rushed to the hospital. We rang and tried to tell them what had happened and they were flat out refusing that the food had Peanuts in it and we’re super in compassionate. They were saying that we had too much to drink. Guys please be careful if you have allergy’s. This incident has been reported to the health department for them to investigate. I do not usually leave bad reviews but this could have killed our friend.
The owners of this restaurant must own the shop. If they had to pay rent they would go broke very quickly. Poor service except for the younger girl who was good. Hot and sour soup was not edible. Dumplings were very ordinary. Chappel St restaurants are blessed with high foot traffic. If it were customers based on word of mouth or repeat customers they would be closed in a week.
