Shaanxi Street Food

Authentic and delicious (coming from a chinese palate, but like any other chinese restaurant don't expect service to be the best. Eg: a lady (seemed like the manager) came and slammed our biang biang noodles on the table without saying anything and just left lol. In general, this place is worth a try.

The staff and chef were having a break at tables, facing the door. when i walked in, they were all staring at me as if i were invading a private property however the door sign did read OPEN. It was a bit embarrasament as no one said welcome or greeted me... after standing in the door way a few seconds, a waitress looking girl came to me and handed a menu to me. I ordered yang rou pao mo (mutton soup with chopped chinese baked bread). I grew up with this dish in shaanxi province, honestly this one here has too much soup (and its too clear and a bit watery). Also, be aware there was no sweet garlic and chilli paste to come with this dish which is a bit disappointing. The good thing is: it is a big portion for those who are hungry and there is a reasonable amount of sliced meat.

Enjoy the food very much, authentic and fair portion. I also bought some frozen Beef Cabbage dumplings home, they are absolutely amazing, juicy and good seasoning. Good place to try Shaanxi cuisine.

A great no fuss, reasonably priced go-to place for Shaanxi dishes. The vegetable soup dumplings are great, and the biang biang noodles are filling and tasty.

The asian options in Box Hill just keep improving. There are a lot of shaanxi style restaurants here now. The food here was as good as any
