Terrible. Missed payment so they cancelled my policy. The to renew they wanted to slug me and EXTRA 50% on top of what I was already paying 3 days ago. I am now with QBE who 25% less than what I was originally paying with SGIO. Unbelievable SGIO. Your loss tho.

This company gets no stars but unfortunately you don't get this option funny that. We called to make a claim on our reticulation pump and were told we were fully covered. We had it fixed then when we sent the invoice to them we were told, not covered. We are now left with a bill and no one will help us. Husband asked them to go back and find the recorded conversation where we were told we were fully covered but they refused to do this then when we asked to speak to the manager we were told they were busy. We are going to take this to consumer affairs. Absolute bunch of rogues.

ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!!!! Beware they like to take your money for your policy but they struggle to do their job. Lodged an insurance claim where we were not at fault and 4 weeks later SGIO have made only 2 attempts to contact the other party, they expect you to pay the excess and wait for months on end to be paid.. WILL BE REMOVING EVERYTHING FROM THEM.. Half the staff on the claim centre cannot even speak english properly.. oh how you guys have gone downhill I would refer anyone to your company

Long term customer of 10 years, and had a big water leak. They don’t call you back, don’t follow up, don’t tell the truth and don’t care. They redefine bad customer service, and as soon as I finish fighting with them to get what I am entitled too, will drop them like a thre week old meat pie......

well i spent an hour on the phone trying to sort out my insurance claim. but after an hour of explanation i realized the person sounded uninterested. So guess what! he was in South Africa so a bloody lot of good that was. A few weeks later i decided to try again to talk to someone local. Well i got another from South Africa whom then put me onto someone in the Phillipines whom then put me back onto someone in South Africa. Is SGIO a local Insurer or is it an overseas Company using the Sate Gov name to get customers sucked in?? I am now changing all of my policies out of SGIO, what a bunch of con artists. They should be taken to task over this.
