Story

Pronounced Sf-uh-mato, the name is Italian (meaning “shaded off”) and has it’s origins in art. It relates to the painting technique used by Leonardo Da Vinci on his Mona Lisa which allows gradual, almost imperceptible transitions of color from light to dark. But what does this have to do with us? Well, we’re not suggesting for a moment that our stylists posses the talent of Leonardo (and maybe they do) but we like to think of them as artistic stylists who do everything in their power to send you away happy

Worst haircut experience i've ever had. not sure how they can call themselves the best salon in Hobart. Walking in, hoping to receive a friendly welcoming service, i get snobed by a tired hairdresser who clearly doesn't feel like having another client on her hands. Wishing for something new and fresh, i came out of there with the worst cut possible, just cuts would've done a hundred times better and $50 cheaper. Wasn't worth my money one bit. We all enjoy a nice shampoo scalp massage don't we? Well of course, at least that could've been right. But no she was so brute with my hair that it actually hurt. No joke, i felt as if she wished to pull my hair out while wringing them. Regret being too polite in situations like that to say something. Paying extra for what they claim to be an artistic approach from a creative stylist, I received a shockingly plain unexciting and frankly terrible haircut that wasn't worth my time or money. I could've cut my hair better myself. I am sorry but no thanks Sfumato.

The service was amazing! From the easy use of their website to the phone call confirming my booking to the great communication from the hairdresser to the comfortable massage seats at the basin. Absolutely amazing! And I feel so confident with my new hairstyle. I would definitely go here all the time if I was a local.

Too expensive to simply have your hair cut. Good end result, but cheaper places elsewhere will give you the same for a better price
