24 Feb. 10:15. We visited service nsw at 24/02 approximately 10:15, The 2 greeting staffs at the front was absolutely useless, The first Indian looking male at the front did not greeting, not even look at you. When you say hello and ask for information he just point inside and turn his head away and walk away did not say a word. Then the Philippine looking lady ask "what do you want" For the service I was doing need 100 points of ID. I got 100 points of ID, but that lady keep asking for Driver licence and Passport, Then for the next 3 minutes I sounds like a customer service explain to her whats 100 points of ID means, and she keep asking me to go home get my passport and come back another day. At the end I insist to get a ticket number and wait for my turn. No problem. 100 points of ID is 100 points of ID, I got what I came for. Imagine if it was some other people who don't understand what's 100 points of ID and got push away for the laziness of these staff. These 2 staff did not provide any service, just stand there hoping no customer comes in so that they can have a relaxing day and getting above average hour pay. How these people pass the interview and got hire? Because they are friends with some internal staff,?
More customer service training needs to be given to the lady who is the greeter or maybe give her a non-customer facing role. You DO NOT NEED to scream at everybody who walks in. You may be having a bad day but something needs to done about your manners. Like another reviewer said, find some one who likes serving people. The name of your department says it all... Service NSW.
I walked in today with a bad morning. It was such a blessing to meet Steve ISTEEVAN who patiently helped with my enquiries. I truly appreciate his kindness. The vibe that I much needed today. Thank you Steve.
Steve has provided the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. He was well educated on how to navigate the app/website I think he could do it blindfolded. He was genuine, friendly and above all helpful. Man deserves a raise I was in and out in 10 mins which is unheard of in my prior experience dealing with Service NSW. Bravo.
If you are planning to go to Chatswood to try your practical drive test, don’t go for it. They are zero professional, lots of miscommunication, you spent time in the line while the “professionals” are checking their photos on the computer.
If I could give 0 I would. Staff member we delt with was unhelpful and obtuse. Said we couldn’t pay NSW stamp duty and get a refund from Victoria to get our plates changed over and stated “we could not pay stamp duty twice.” Went to a different service NSW this morning and did exactly what she told us was impossible. Felt as if she didn’t actually want to help us as it was close to closing time and she couldn’t be bothered so instead gave us incorrect information just to get rid of us.
I recently had a good and quick experience at the Service NSW branch at Chatswood. I had to have a sight test carried out for by Drivers Licence to become official. The only issue was that all Service NSW centres were open for essential transactions and this information was not available on the website. It would have been quite upsetting if I had to come back at another time.
I had the worst experience when doing my driving test. Do not book here! And if you do, fingers crossed you don't get Catherine as your testing officer. Since the very beginning she was making everything more stressful than it already is, being rude, impolite and constantly pushing me to do everything faster - my test was at 8AM and they also open the centre at that time; as soon as I entered she started telling me off because I was late and because they had been looking for me, which is false as they literally just opened the centre. The worst part is not even that. She made the whole test quite unsafe, constantly pushing me to go faster, asking me to get really close to the cars in front and pressuring me to take turns without giving me the chance to do the proper checks. Let me tell you, this isn’t a frustrated salty customer that got failed, go and read all the Google reviews and filter by “Catherine” - you’ll see that many people agree she is the worst. Studying all the road rules is quite a lengthy process, but I didn’t know I also had to study on how to deal with a challenging instructor. Does NSW Transit have any training material on how to deal with rude, antagonistic, unethical testing officers? If so, I didn’t find any. I got failed because I was “on the wrong side of the road” when actually the road was quite narrow and there were cars blocking my left and had no other choice but to stay a little bit more to the right. It is quite disappointing that such an amazing country with such organised government continues to allow people like these to work for them. They forgot they work for the people and not the other way around..
Had a very unpleasant experience at the brunch today, it started with a greeter lady being extremely unfriendly. I get it, working with a general public is not necessarily the best job but if you are not dealing well with that maybe leave the position so someone better equipped can step in? With the financial and employment crisis these days, there will be plenty of other applicants who’d be happy to work.
All these reviews about a certain driving instructor all have one thing in common. These angry people all failed their test and instead of taking accountability for their own poor driving ability, They have gone out writing a pointless google review to make themselves feel better about themselves and have blamed the tester for their poor driving ability. Not everyone deserves nor should get a license, It is a test for a reason. If you are good you pass. If you are bad you fail. No bias needed. Horrible drivers shouldn't be expected to pass. I am glad these angry arrogant people failed their tests because the roads are a lot safer due to Catherine's competence and compliance with the road rules. Be better people.
