Searoad Ferries

A short 40 minute journey capable of taking vehicles of all shapes and sizes as regular as pedestrian passengers. Splendid interior design with an average cafe, Windows provided on every side for s panoramic view. The crossing was not turbulent, the bay was very calm. The wind on top of the boat was very strong however, take a jacket! (Please mark this as a helpful review if you think it has been!)

A great way to avoid the 3 or more hour drive to get across the bay (+through Melbourne traffic) and enjoy something a little different. The ferry's are comfortable and quite large, with decent space between the vehicles to park and get out relatively easily. I can't remember exactly how long the ride took, but loading/unloading the vehicles was very efficient and watching these ferries come in to dock with such accuracy is pretty impressive too. There are apparently a few different ferries, but the 2 I've experienced were both clean and comfortable. The lounge is one level up from the vehicles and has a cute little cafe where you can get coffee and sweets, and an array of seating options for the trip. There's even a little play area for younger children! You can also head outside on that level or one level up to get some beautiful veiws of the area. If you're lucky you might see some dolphins catch a ride in the waves near the front! Every person I spoke to on the trip was very nice and more than happy to answer questions so that made the trip even more enjoyable! :)

Rode the ferry for a day trip to the Bellerine Peninsula. Staff expertly guided my drive on to the ferry for both journeys. Enjoyed a latte and the beautiful views while in transit. On the return journey, we were in the overflow lane for the penultimate service that day. No worries, they brought a smaller ferry into service, which we took at 18:30! Smaller, yet the ride was just as smooth! Appreciated the staff keeping us informed. Excellent end to a wonderful day. Thank you, Searoad Ferries. You and your staff are a credit to our beautiful peninsulas!

Very well run operation! The trip was smooth and trouble free and very enjoyable! The only negative was the coffee I bought on the ferry - do yourself a favour and have a cup of tea instead. The coffee was like drinking dish water with a dash of milk.

took my son on the ferry for the first time. We parked the car at Queenscliff and did a round trip on the ferry. The staff is very friendly and are happy to have a chat or two. The bonus part is the cafe makes pretty good coffee as well.
