Sago Restaurants

Affordable and tasty Vietnamese restaurant, can't beat a $6 Banh Mi within inner city district. The spicy beef soup was nice, a little spicy for me but I don't eat too hot. The Crispy pork Banh Mi was great with really fluffy crackling which is hard to come by.

Yummy food, quick! I am not the person who like Vietnamese food but this restaurant was so good. Venue was clean and staff is friendly

Service was good, the lady was very nice. And the Vietnamese ice coffee was nice too. However food sucks! Food didn't taste fresh, tasted like it was cooked the day before and just preheated before serving. I was very disappointed considering the high praises the restaurant receives from the review. Only giving 2 stars for the service I received from the nice server lady.

The wonderful thing about Sago was that it used to cater to a variety of different dietary requirements. I say ‘used to’ because they recently changed their menu. Sago no longer offers salads at dinner time. Sago used to have options to suit palio diets and vegan diets and everything in between. Now they have mostly carb-heavy meals and the options for dinner are especially limited. My friends and I used to eat here or get takeaway/delivery at least once a week. We won’t be anymore. We will have to find somewhere else that caters to us all. Sorry to the old owners and manager for not giving you a 5 star review before when you really deserved it. If you decide to change your menu back please let me know and my friends and I will all come back to spend money regularly again

Enjoyed delicious food at Sago restaurant. All the dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour. We enjoyed the duck in lettuce cups, the lettuce was fresh & crisp, the duck was bursting with flavours. I also enjoyed Beef Pho, a good Pho tastes great before you add the condiments, this Pho was full of flavour. The staff were friendly & helpful. All ages ranges were enjoying the food. There is seating inside & on a deck. They were also busy with takeaway. Worth a visit

Walked in with high expectations, came out pleased. The ambience is comfortable. I had the crispy chicken dish, and it hit the spot with its magical coconut rice and unmistakable crispy chicken. Also tried the Pho, and it was a winner with that sweet and savoury beef broth. Would definitely try again!

First, let me say that I like Sago and will go back again. The staff are lovely, service quick and prices reasonable. Premises are clean and spacious. It’s a place where grown ups can have a meal before attending a show at La Boite. The previous times I’ve been there the food was good if not spectacular. My review is intended to give feedback to the chef. The kailan with pork belly was excellent. 5/5! The lemongrass chicken was tender and juicy but lacked flavour. No hint at all of lemongrass and not grilled sufficiently. To serve with some chilly on the side and soy sauce would have made a difference. So 2.5/5. The tofu wrap was fresh but even more bland than the chicken. 1/5. Can you see how I arrived at 3 stars?

I go here weekly with my daughter, always a good value and delicious meal. We love it. Sad it is closed temporarily.
