This Church is truly an example of a Catholic Church at work. The Church Building itself is a architectural masterpiece and alone is a must to see if visiting Melbourne. Helping and feeding the poor is just a normal part of the day to day life at the Sacred Heart, St Kilda. I would strongly recommend visitors to Melbourne come to mass at 11am any Sunday. After mass have a cuppa and look around the Sacred Heart Mission. The people who attend the mission for Support are helped in many ways and there are about 400 meals served daily (7 days a week) There is an Op Shop next to the Church which is open Sunday's and is a great opportunity to pick up a bargain and also a nice way to donate to the Mission. St Kilda is an enigmatic place full of life that keeps us returning time and time again. Spend some time just walking the streets and beaches and enjoy being part of it all. Trams from Melbourne CBD are plentiful. A GREAT WAY TO SPEND A SUNDAY.
